Reworked accuracy, recoil, weight, bullet speed, calibers(M82 Barret), damage, impact force, price, degradation, reliability, bullet capacity, fire modes(AK-12, M16A4), firerate of pretty much all guns, as well as all scopes(ACOG's, PSO's, Galil's scope are LPVO's now) & reticles as well as supressors. Meant to be used along with Grok's Balanced Overhaul Of Ballistic System.
Do you remember good old days playing Misery, where after obtaining basic AK at full durability with scope you were pretty much ready for whatever Zone would throw at you? Or you'd like to use burst fire more often without suffering from recoil growing with each shot, turning your gun into rattle? Or maybe you don't dig current scopes & their reticles and you'd like to see them in wider, less obscure and with variable magnification form? Or to shoot Barret M82 using .50 BMG as it's meant to be used, instead of relying on russian 12.7x55 cartridge?
If answer to any of these questions sounds yes, then this mod may be for you
Let me introduce you to my mod, in which I attempted to rework and rebalance all weapons and their attachments. Main features of Alternative Weapon Balance & Reworked Silencers & Scopes include:
- All guns(other than pistols & shotguns) are as accurate as they can, so if you miss your target it's your fault - not gun's anymore.
- All pistols are much more accurate as well.
- All guns with magazines feature X rounds in magazine + 1 in the chamber rounds total.
- Maximal distance of how far a bullet can go is set at 1000 meters for all guns(bullets still drop & lose their energy)
- NATO guns & modern variants are much more expensive now.
- Shotguns are more accurate now and some of them are effective up to 100 meters once used with slugs.
- Increased muzzle velocity of all guns(other than shotguns) to reduce their bullet drop.
- Reworked recoil of all guns. Rising recoil with each shot is gone - instead every gun using X type of ammo (like M16, FAMAS, L85 using 5.56 etc.) feature pretty much the same recoil pattern(weapons like AKS's, AK-102,104, 105's, AKS-74u & M4's using the same ammo as their bigger brothers suffer from greater recoil(they also deal marginally less damage) + now you'll need to deal more with horizontal recoil thus full auto is not viable option for longer distances).
_ AKM & AK-47 feature more horizontal recoil than AK-103's, but less vertical.
- Standardised damage of weapons, so RPK(7.62x39) will deal the same damage as RPD instead of 0.05 lower, FN-2000 now deals the same damage as the rest of 5.56 guns instead of 0,01 higher cause it's FN-2000, G3's deal the same ammount of damage as the rest of the 7.62x51 rifles, etc...
- Slightly buffed damage of ASH-12.
- AK12 now has 3 round burst mode at a rate of 1200RPM.
- M16A4 has 3 round burst instead of full auto.
- All variants of X weapon, no matter if they're regular, modern or custom made share the same weight value(unless they feature integrated attachment of any kind) - so no more situations where 1 variant of AK74M weighs 2,7kg while other is 3,65kg.
- Reduced damage of 7.62 snipers(they still deal greater damage than their semi/full auto counterparts, just not as much)
- M82 Barret finally uses 50BMG, instead of russian 12.7x55 cartridge.
- Buffed damage of M82.
- Increased firerate of all pistols to 700RPM(Desert Eagle's 650) & semi auto long weapons(SVD, SVU, SKS..) so full auto mode on Nimble's SVU makes just a bit more sense now..
- increased firerate of VSS Vintorez's to 900RPM.
- Increased firerate of Nimble's MP5(in .45ACP) to 800RPM.
- Changed firerate of 9a91 to 700RPM.
- Type 63 rifle now features 750RPM.
- Increased capacity of SR25, ASH12, VSS Vintorez, SVD's & SVU's, to 20(+1) rounds.
- Increased capacity of SKS to 20 rounds.
- Increased capacity of CZ-75 full auto variant to 26(+1) rounds.
- Reduced capacity of Vihr to 20(+)1 rounds.
- Binoculars now feature clean view & 24x zoom by default(No need for upgrade).
- slightly buffed damage & explosion range of grenades.
- Guns using WP ammo(9x18, 7.62x25, 5.45x39, 7.62x39, 7.62x54, 7.92x57(counts as WP here), 12.7x55) lose durability slightly faster than their NATO counterparts, but won't jam til they reach below 80% durability.
- AEK's & AK-12's lose durability slightly faster while AN-94 loses durability the fastest.
- Guns using NATO ammo(9x19, 5.7x28, .45ACP, 357 Magnum, 5.56x45, 7.62x51, 50BMG) break slightly slower, but will start to malfunction after reaching below 90%(with exception to pistols, most of them won't jam until durability drops below 80%)
- Bolt action rifles & MP412REX break at slower rate and won't jam until durability drops to 70%.
- G43 & SVT-40 degrade the fastest but the're cheap & won't jam until durability drops to 80%.
- 2 barreled shotguns break slightly faster than sniper rifles and will start to malfunction when durability drops to 75%.
- Pump action shotguns break faster than 2 barreled ones and will start to malfunction when durability drops to 82%. They also have worse spread & accuracy.
- Semi & full auto shotguns break the fastest(and feature the most spread) and will start to malfunction when durability drops to 92%.
_ There's a few exceptions from rules above, read included Exceptions from misfire rule.txt for more informations
- Full auto pistols (CZ-75 full auto, APS, OC-33) break slightly faster, but only when firing at full auto.
- Custom, Nimble, actor(Strelok, Diegtiariow..) guns feature +2 boost to their durability(if normal AK will start to jam below 80%, custom AK will jam below 78%, but all break at the same rate), while faction & modern variants +1. They are more expensive obviously.
___ATTACHMENT SYSTEM CHANGES___
- Reworked pretty much all scope & reflex reticles(other than L85's, G36K, PK-A & kobra sight on Zulu's PKP.)
- Changed reticle of 1p29 to that of 1p78 Kashtan.
- PSO & ACOG scopes are now LPVO's with variable magnification(1-10X).
- Galil's scope now features variable magnification(1-19X).
- All integrated scopes(SG 550 Sniper variant, all sniper rifles, VSS Vintorez from Nimble & with integrated 1p93..) feature variable magnification by default and increased magnification(1-22X).
- Supressors reduce recoil by 10%, but make your gun break 10% quicker.(weapons with integrated supressor already feature recoil decrease in stats but they don't suffer from increased degradation.
- PSO's, ACOG's & Galil scopes are more expensive now.
- Slightly increased price of 1p29 scope.
- Lenses of colimator sights are now as clean as never.
___AMMO CHANGES___
- The higher the caliber the higher the kinetic energy, so enemies will no longer fall down after taking 12GA to the face as if they had a stroke, but they'll do a backflip backwards(Doesn't seem to work with 338 & railgun sadly :/ ).
- Type of ammo No longer affects weapon accuracy, range, recoil & bullet speed.

Very interesting, what kind of compatibility issues can I expect? For example I have PiP scopes (which changes PSO scopes into full 3d, as well as the older Mosin/SVT scopes), I assume they wont work together with your addon..?
Thanks! I can't guarantee they'll work together, but as long as they mess with different files there's a chance it may work. My mod is fully compatible with JSRS and pretty much any other mod that does not mess with any gun and scope files, so it should be compatible with most addons. Although I doubt it'll work with PIP scopes cause now despite PSO I also turned ACOG into 2D scope.
If you'd like to you can only use reflex reticles from my mod and leave PIP as they are already.
+1 in the chamber? It's really new feature like in some games (31 round, you shot all of them, reloaded gun, 30 rounds, reloaded again (tactical reload) and now 31 round (or 30+1)), or just

If you want actual 1-in-the-chamber simulation, use the Mags Redux mod, there's an MCM setting that allows for that.
Although you need to be a bit careful, currently if you have one kind of ammo loaded and switch to another kind, it'll eat a bullet.

Great job dude! Id like to point out that the RPK has a 40 round magazine, the RPK-74 is the one with a 45 round magazine. Otherwise nice job!

How does the variable magnification work? Is there a keybind that changes the magnification or what?
Nah, just press RMB to ADS with any scope(works with PSO's, ACOG's Galil's and all integrated 2D scopes) and use mouse scroll to change the magnification

That's weird. TT-33 works just fine for me, both normal and modern variant and I see no trouble with AKS-74 either, no matter if I move it around, zoom in and out with any scope and shoot.
I suspect possible conflict with other mods, but just in case I'll redo configs of these 2 guns to be safe.

The performance is not bad, but due to the lack of blur at least along the edges, it seems that you are looking not through a scope, but through a magnifying glass. The aiming grids themselves are not bad.
Yeah, magic of 2D scopes - maybe I'll add more black along the edges to at least mimic this blur.

May I ask what was the reason of making Beretta to have more range than AK rifle? Even more if we take into account 9x19 with *3 air resist of 7.62x39 (it's just the first two I opened ;p ).
Also, dispersion of guns in 1.5.1 is already almost non-existing, why did you divide the value by 50 more?
1.Beretta does not have more range per say, maximal distance bullet can travel is set at 1000 meters for all guns, and Beretta's muzzle velocity is set at 565(+200 to +/- what would be real life value to fight bullet drop) while 7.62x39 AK's feature muzzle velocity of over 900(again, to fight bullet drop) It may seem weird, but that's just my approach, but i'll take a deeper look at these values in a few days.

Bullet speed does not affect bullet drop or its damage, it's literally how fast bullet is and nothing else. Bullet drop depends on air resistance.
...or was it solely weapon's distance and bullet's k_dist, I don't remember already xd but certainly not velocity.

Experiment with both distance and air res, because I don't remember which one affect it... was long time ago, only remember that air resistance affect damage a little bit.

okai went to check my year old messages and apparently i wasn't even testing bullet drop, but damage only. Barking inside the head messed things up.

You can install only my weapon configs then, in that case if you have installed my mod you'll need to delete textures folder from gamedata folder inside Stalker Anomaly - then you'll have vanilla textures or whatever else you prefer. No need for new version.
