Futuristic world conflicts. Any futuristic game involving fighting ends up being like UT or something along those lines. We need more games like Planetside (and I mean that just settingwise). You can, of course, mix a bit of post apocalyptic in there, that's always fun if done right.
More medieval fantasy games? What are you guys smoking, and where can I get some? Honestly, don't we have enough? Steampunk all the way man.
mideval/fantasy setting! with ninjas!!
I agree with Dragon Lord on the Sci-Fi comment. It's a fairly untapped genre considering you can practically reinvent the rules. You can create new species with new civilisations and new conflicts or even harmonies. There's so much that can be done.
Post Apocalyptic stuff owns everything.
I chose modern because, even though it seems to be the theme for game-makers at the moment, I would like to see more, and a better variety of modern games.
However, reviewing my choice, I wish I had chosen Post-Apocalyptic, since they are often very interesting.
medieval is totally overdone and sux. modern time always ends up with CS like stuff and sux. if there would be more stealth oriented ones then modern time is ok. cyberpunk is also rather overdone and squeezed out. real sci-fi i miss a lot. most times it ends up in mecha-stuff or cyber-punk stuff, but that's only mlike 1% of what sci-fi can do. more of the other 99% would be good.
More games in medieval times. I like the swords and bad-*** armor sort of thing :P
Western's! (Other)
Other
There has to be some non invented not released setting :)
Cyberpunk for the win!
Modern Day, because its so screwed up these days! :P
Be imaginative :P
After 'other' I would vote Fantasy, then Steampunk/Cyberpunk/SciFi/PostApoc (which are essentially fantasy based in a possible future as long as they're not based on Human kind).
I went for cyberpunk - but I already had the disgusted notion that post apoc and modern would be at the top. People who vote for that sicken me!
Treky for teh win!
hm, some modern day, but "moderner". like splinter cell or soldier of fortune, set in the present/near future, with real environments, but some cool weapons
anything BESIDES those would suit me fine.
alternate, screwy universes are fine.
Yeah, there definatly needs to be more Western games!
I like the idea of post apoc, too many modern day games are coming out already.
See there's an excess amount of WWII games but there's an extreme lack of Civil War, Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and my favourite WWI. I like the idea of a Desert Storm game, not exactly tactical like how Conflict: Desert Storm was more like head on combat.
cyberpunk, thats a genre that needs to be done more often
dystopia comes close, but technically it's 'dystopian' - which is slightly different
Public Enemy (hl1) is the definition of cyberpunk.
other
something different
EG set on another planet but in the past or anything with new ideas 'cos they should capture the imagination with mod players instead of all these CS and DoD clones
I don't really care where its set, as long as the mod has good production values, a large dedicated semi-professional team, and is popular online for a recent game.
Cyber Funk (Other :D)
I like Dance Dance revolution...but p/a is good
more fantesy games like dark cloud 1 and 2
and please ON pc (only singleplayer) thanks
I like modern day games or modern day games that are a tad bit twords the future. Like maybe Half LIfe 2. I also like "the future" settings like in Halo
What is steampunk?
En.wikipedia.org
WEird Wacky Toony Crazy XD cut your self from the bounds of real physics, ideas and everything X)
Apocalyptic all the way, give me fallout or give me death!! :dead:
Yay for Steampunk! :D
games like Yuri's Revenge would be cool - games with the present and a little mix of the future (such as the weather machine). It was also great because it had also showed some of how the past used to be if you didn't notice! They had things such as Boomers, which the Soviet Union had used - the creators of this device; until they lost of thier money of course, lol.
Modern Day Near Future setting :D
more Fun and must have a StoryLine!
That would be awesome, no? Or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Or the period of the Aztecs. Imagine a Natives vs. Columbus mod. that could be interesting. I love well-done mountains in video games.
Cyberpunk! I love the drizzly run-down "Bladerunner"-esque look. Gimme an "Elder Scrolls" type game in that style location, and you'd see one happy camper.
Other: Apocalyptic Waywardness (if its not a word it is now). You know where icons like Colonel Sanders vs Jack in the box man in the duel for the universe.
Modern day as games are more accurate, most games set in past times are usually ridiculously inaccurate and all games set in the future have predictions that are pure rubbish.
Different settings. Games have huge potential for their own style, but only a handful of people in the world do anything about it in any meaningful way.
Steampunk sounds a bit sexy. I would vote for that, but I voted modern day before I read what steampunk was :(
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Best idea 3V0RZ1!!!1!!one1!
I would so play that. Screw you, Thanksgiving Pilgrims! I'll break my bread over your effing HEAD!!!
Dear everyone:
I voted 'Other', which is fitting of my latest, unannounced mod project.
I like it in a jungle or a city with zombies
definatly western.
Some Some Dog Soldier vs Buffalo Soldier action ;)
Other, because I don't really care about the setting so much as the art direction and overal visual quality.
Come on can NOONE make a game that has lots of new creatures never heard of before, i wist there was a JRR tolkien to bless us with his imagination
What a shame, steam punk is at the bottom D: it's a nice setting, one I wouldn't mind seeing more of.
More games in fallout spirit FFS!
Middle earth needs GOOD games
