hbm ftw
- a mod that has introduced new and exciting gameplay (possibly in addition to refining an existing concept)
- a mod that has released a playable version (beta, v 1.0)
- a mod that released successive updates that IMPROVE the overall gaming experience (well-managed development cycle)
- a mod that has interacted with the public to make a fruitful contribution to the modding community as well as its playerbase
- a mod that would make me consider buying the original game platform if I don't already own it, safe in the knowledge that if I download this mod I will be rewarded with a compelling gaming experience that I will be able to return to in the future to relive the experience (this could be multiplayer or singleplayer)
...or that's what I'm hoping for...
Woot, first comment, A mod I know and play of course.
Couldn't care less to be honest.
Every Mod!!! Strictly because I think that people put alot of work into them.
Couldn't care less
I like surpirzes
There is something like 3000 mods on this site and 80,000 members each of whom likes a different one. So yeah, all mods really should win because it aint easy developing something like this, but at the end of the day someone has to come out on top. Will be interesting to see who that is!
all awards mean nothing because it can never be official. like if say the world was to vote on who would be the next UN leader then the only way for it to be fair and even is if every single person in the world voted allot of awards like those movie ones i dont know what they are called, they are voted by the other movie stars and that is completely unfair the public may hate the movie. so all i am saying is it doesnt matter who gets it, it means nothing so dont feel bad if your mod loses.
My vote gave it 1% go cheese! and i think my mod should win :) though it certainly wont but i still like lazarus though its not started much :D
There should at least be some runner up prizes, because 1 out 3000 is too biased.
Game of the year awards are stupid, this is no exception. Couldn't care less.
How about a mod that isn't underrated? Amirite?
D'oh! I meant overrated.
what a stupid poll
Ditto
Although you're right about that too.
If its not a mod we (the community) know and play then it obviously does not deserve the honorary title of Mod Of The Year 2005
A mod I know and play, I don't wan't the votes rigged because people voted for "I dunno, supprise me."
I don't know. I would like to see a mod that I haven't played, one that has trouble getting players and only has one or two servers. A really awesome mod with fresh gameplay and some real work put into it, instead of the one that produces the most media, has the nicest website and STILL plays like counter-strike.
dont really care... all mods are equilly good... wel... most of em anyway... some suck, but some have 12% more kickassine
Insurgency, FH, or PoE should win, but id like USI to win too :p
The Red Hammer mod. for Operation Flashpoint was awesome but could have been even better, I mean, you shouldn't have to follow Dimitri's little rebellion against the Soviet way, you should be able to change the outcome of the war by your actions, not just finish the war the way the designers decide it should be fought and how they think it should finish..............a bit of a challenge for the designers I admit but it would be more fun that way. :)
where's the option Return To Mana who would really deserve it
Bah, couldn't care less :)
then again... not ALL mods developed are registered here... which is a pity and shame... but some dont think its nessesary...
come to think of it... its the Gameplay mods... not the conversion mods thati myself enjoy mostly...
Surprise me... a mod I don't know
wat! i think it would b best to choose "a mod i know and play" cuz' the mods we play r really good and we should vote for it cuz' we always thought it was a very cool mod u know rofl :D.
cuz' i know that i voted for "a mod i know and play" :P
I don't actually care. But it would be fun to see mod I've never ever heard of win.
I think everymod should win just cuz every mod team works hard to get their mod out there!
Eternal Damnation HANDS DOWN!!!
any mod thats not a halflife mod.
Nothing against you HL modders, just that valve banned my steam account :).
Plus I am a little sick of the front page news being clogged with HL2 mod screenshots from a million and one mods that will never release.
i'd have put every mod should get an equal chance to win and i know thats the case with moddb MOTY awards however that is not an option but every mod should win in its own rights and i think moddb should have more catergorised awards for example
FPS Genre
RTS Genre
Orignal Genre
Etc etc i think you get the picture.
