Feature articles are few and far between and often rather boring to anyone already invested / familiar with their favorite modding scenes (note I don't include the MOTY stuff in that, which I love!). Tutorials are better found elsewhere in more specific / niche communities for the various engines and if I wanted indie news I'd go to IndieDB!
I do the same sort of thing, I uselly type the exact address to my mod page to quickly check for new messages etc I need to reply to.
Then if im not in a rush I flick over to the homepage to check featured articles, then mod news and then the polls,
But if I don't have time, I check it when i'm next on the computer the same night lol
I do this on a daily basis, I don't really need to vote for a faviourite because I check all of the options every day in the end lol :D
I really like the front page as it is. It is simplistic yet very easy to find whatever you want. I hope it will remain that way and not evolve into a picture, hyperlink, article, news chaos like most gaming sites.
To be honest though, I only check the front page for any new polls or the slide-images news on top to see if there is anything of interest. My point of interest is mainly on the top of the Home page (my profile) and the links below it (mods and forums).
So, the content I mostly check out is the slide-news thingy. It is very helpfull and I wish it could be updated more often.
Keep up the awesome task of keeping this site working guys!
Sometimes I browse front page articles, but for the most part, I only use it to look at recent forum posts.
Short version: Feature Articles :)
Long version:
To much feedback for a comment: Moddb.com
Polls, obviously
Polls are to cool to be included in the poll.
#Pollception
Mod news because this is ModDB.

Who would even look for tutorials here? (I mean on the front page, not like in normals pages)
I usually just go to my updates. On the rare occasion I check the front page I check to see any new polls.
