Now that version 3 is here, what are your first impressions?

I'm just the opposite.
I like the new color scheme, but I liked the old design where all the mod info was on one page.

I'm quickly getting used to this though.

I still have to comment the colours. In my opinion, they are only good thing in v3, very christmassy feel in them.

the black and white contrast strains your eyes, and the huge icons down the side make it feel like everything has been squashed to make room plus they feel like ads and thats really annoying.

i reckon it could work, but im liking v2 more at the minute

i want v2.0 back... it was clean, professional and good... v3.0 is a crappy layout and eye-hurting color schema, more a lame-star page than a modding page <.=.<

I've got to say, I really like the layout and most of the colouring. It would be nice to see softer greys in the white sections (just to ease some eye ownage) and also to replace some of the red with darker red or even perhaps grey. Perhaps I am just picky.

Personally, I love the new layout and colours, but will there be more themes available for those who don't like the colours?

I really like the red against the black, good work!

For some odd reaon it made it seem like there are more ads, so I prefer version two.

V2 BACK KTHXBAY!

V2 rocked! V3? Well...maybe with lots of work... I guess at least theme selection will be implemented eventually.

I would just like to say that V3 is very well planned out. Things are easy to find and everything looks almost perfect.
Also, I love the way that the navigation is coded - its guenius what you have done with the rollover images *MWAH* and the colour choice isn't to bright nor to dark. You have hit this site right on the money ^_^

Yay... tabs. If we start a fund, will you bring v2 back?

I don't mean to sound rude, but I really don't think this is better than v2. Now I have to move through different tabs to see all the information about mod/member, when before I could do it without always loading a new page.

I must say I don't like the tabs that much. They aren't very functional, although they seem to be required as there isn't much space at all.

But... I think we should give it a try. Just keep using it, and eventually you'll get used to it.

It looks like people tend to go against changes... even if they're better in some way.

I also want V2 back. I hate all the red and it seems like its a lot harder to get from one place to another. I loved how the mod descriptions were set up now there is *gulp* tabs (yuck).

Especially with huge amount of coding that has gone into moddb, It makes it 1 unique site

the simple white background sucks!!! and the little mod titles must be bigger and colorized (blue or red...)

This version makes me sad because it looks skinnier than I am on my 1600*1200 monitor.

This really looks cooler than V2, but i think its too complicated, if you know what i mean. V2 was more clear for beginners than this...

The Layout is alright, i think.
But I want the old colorscheme back. it would be the best, if you make a section in the Control Panel, where we can choose a scheme.

V2V2V2 I want V2 back! this is WAY confusing and hurts my eyes :( can you make an option to see V2 and V3?

Holy crap. What happened. I don't want to be rude either guys, I know you worked hard on the new layout, but V2 looked more professional and less... bubblegum. Plus it had a nicer way to navigate around the site. Can we have V2 back. Sorry guys.

V2 was easier to navigate while ignoring ure mates on msn.....

Sorry moddb, but the new layout is a step down. Black, white and red? It's like I'm running Windows in high contrast mode, it makes my eyes bleed. Things are far too hard to find - I had to scroll down the page to do a simple search! And this is on 1024x768 resolution! No one should have to do that.

I do not like v3. The color scheme makes my eyes hurt. I am running in 1024x768, but I do not like maximized windows, and there is no bar on the bottom to go left and right (in FireFox at least). The mods page I don't like either, I don't like how it's split into tabs, instead of giving you the lowdown all at once. This version seems less streamlined and more kids-page looking.

i for one find it hard to properly navigate around at some times...

Everything's squashed up and harder to read, the tab system doesn't seem to do anything except force the information that used to be all on one page onto several pages. The colour scheme sucks although that's not so much of a problem when themes start showing up. Overall it seems to be quite poorly thought out compared to V1 and V2, a big step down in functionality really.

hmmm... maybe the DB admins shouldnt have made it undercover... obviously ALOT of people are VERY unstatisfied with it...

just goes to show ya... democrazy rules...

look, im sorry, but i really like the old profiles! Maybe if you changed the profiles, it would looks os much better :( it is a better site in some ways, but you should work on it, lol. guess thats all i have to say : /

I vote for V2. I just dont like the red & black combination...its too dark and kinda kills the eyes.

I like the colors and some of the idea, but I do NOT like the new profile format. Having all of the profile info running along the right hand side of the screen in small print is no good. The profiles just seem very cluttered now to me.

Yea, I'd have to agree with the "I want v2" crowd, though I did vote "It's alright."

Tabs are okay. The most important difference that I like and noticed immediately was that the search section is at the top, not the bottom. That's a good change. The other good thing is the menu located at the left of the screen. It's really helpful and user-friendly with those images too.

Mainly the color scheme is a little extravagent, I guess it's Holiday season... but that's as far as it really goes for dislikes for me. I'd seriously think about going back to a more-traditional v2ish color scheme. The color scheme right now just screams! Having lots of black with lots of white is just a little too much. Oh... one more thing. The Mod titles need to be a more prominent. Mod names are the most important, the subject line of a news post is really the sub-title, the content is next on the important list. If I were using html tags then it would go like this:

Mod Name = h1
News Subject = h3
Content = h5 (or normal text)

It's ALWAYS inportant to know what the mod's NAME is!!!
