I find it weird, this poll asks if this site is needed, so far theres 21% of the votes that say they can either get the stuff elsewhere or they don't need it at all. BUT! If they do NOT need anything from this site then why are they on the site and voting? Would someone mind explaining that? Thank you.
If this is about the ModDB expanding to include other services, I'd say stick to what you know/do best or the core service will suffer.
If it's about somebody else setting up a service which won't be run by the ModDB, but might be linked as a sister site, then I can't see why not, as long as resources aren't stretched between the two.
It would still be useful, why does everyone feel the need to make their own mp5? stock weapon sounds and models would be very nice, just as long we don't have to pay any money for it everything should be fine...
It's kind of like a phone poll saying "Are you the sort of person who would respond to a phone poll?" Kind of.
Anyways, yes, it would be very useful to have these kind of resources available. It would help for some of the core resources than tend to be used in a lot of mods.
Great if this actually happend then the only thing I would like to say is "Did I see that map somewhere before?". People will use it and will turn mods into medicre mods that has content from a free resource website. BORING! I prefer to see people make there own stuff vs. seeing the same ol' thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND...
Sharing is definitely a great idea. With the time saved from not having to re-invent the wheel, we can focus that time on implementing new and creative ideas. I would definitely be willing to share my code!
Makes it that much eaier to keep up with all the great mods out there, and where to find them 8)
Everyone wins! The modders since there mods reach more people, the gamers that get easy acces to the mods
no site,no mods,no free mods thats my opinion
I would download some stuff. ;)
yeah stick to what already works.

Yeah, dead mods should have an easy way to submit their stuff.
We should have an easy way to steal stuff from dead mods.
This is the way!
Hell yes. I'd download stuff.
Yes! Thats exactly what we need!

I think Moddb would benefit in Traffic if they did do sharing, such as Oblivion coming out, it might be a good time to capitalise on that.
