It's the week before beta. Two people are home, struck down by some mysterious illness. I should probably be home myself as well, but here I am, plugging away at the code. Just now, I got furnaces to work in the server-side inventory, complete with working progress bar art thingies.
Remaining is visible armour and items, then client-side prediction for less lag, and a pile of testing.
It's a bit rough around the edges, but the new version of minecraft.net is up! It will receive even more polish in the future, with prettier art by JunkBoy and less super-wide content.
I spent all day today working on gift codes, and it's working now! The way it works is that you buy codes that get connected to your account, then you give those away to friends. When they redeem the code, they will get added to your profile page, so you can keep track of how generous you are.
You can buy the codes here: Minecraft.net
Codes bought before the 20th will generate alpha accounts when redeemed, even if that's in six months from now.
Awesome Christmas present for the few people who don't already own the game :D
ur awsome notch u should be at home but u sit plucking at code for ur fans u r AWSOME
It's great to see how dedicated Notch really is. I just wish SMP updates were SSP updates as well.
And I JUST bought the game for a friend that didn't have it... Oh well.
that means it's an alpha account! it changed when MC reaches beta.
by "it changed", I mean, it will change.any account bought before beta will forever be alpha accounts.
dont die from the illness!
