I was contacted by Corey from TR earlier this day and after a conversation about what was right and not, permission and disrespect the following disprogress was made:
I, meaning the whole mod, has lost permission to use any Ages of Star Wars, FX mod and Thrawn's Revenge related content made by the members that made Ages of Star Wars.
This means the sith don't have any corvettes, we can't shoot with lasers and some explosions are gone. As you may know this is a setback. Major setback. Plus that I'm now listening to the warning of of ported content, meaning that all content from other games, like all ground units, epic looking heroes and nice troopers must be removed. No not removed, the models and skins must be removed and we have to make our own models. And that is a fucking problem on itself because we have a total of 2 modelers in the team. You can imagine how I feel as this is also the first time the mod team hears this.
Ok, what more is woth mentioning? Maybe all in short to make it all clear on your mind:
Lasers, all sith corvettes, some explosions, and all ground models and skins must be removed.
If anyone has any ideas about how to fix this investation of the darkside, he/she's free to sent me a personal message, email me or otherwise contact me. If you are a modeler, almost needless to say contact me. We need you more than ever.
That will be all problems on my mind for now, if more heavily important content must be removed I'll inform you all.

It in my opinion is a minor set back. Can look at it this way. New models will make theirs look like a child made them :)
good job with the positive attitude dark, but itll take a while to do more explosions,completely remake corvettes, and start from scratch with lasers....and thats not even getting into the ground unit skins...
ya i know. But it will give me the chance to focus all my attention on working on the new planets and codes for them and their abilities :) and let mne focus on some minor bugs of the units we have.
might even let me get around to fixing the double icon in space battle in GC :) I've kinda been putting that fix off because i considered it minor. :p guess i won't have to many excuses anymore.

knowing a bit of this from previous experiences, technically they both have and do not have permission to take away your models. they gave you permission and you had it, know they're taking it away. If you had a written or document about this agreement then they wouldn't be able to take the models away.
Err, no. It doesn't work like that. Besides if you wanted a contract for whatever reason, a smart person would just insert a clause saying that they at any time can withdraw permission.
why would they let you and then not let you that doesn't make sense? Did you upset them some way to make them not want you to have the models in the mod as a way of revenge?.....silly....
I don't see why you couldn't just make your own in the first place. I mean, no offense, but what kind of modder just takes content from other mods for his own mod?

oh, funny question guy... have you ever tried to make a mod? i want to see that you make everything yourself, without taking stuff from other mod's or other people... (asking for permission is a basic, if you do so)... so, if you got the permission, why shouldn't use stuff from others?
As a matter of fact I have, and I realize how incredibly difficult it is, but I still think it's ridiculous taking content from other mods (permission or not). In my opinion it just makes the modder look lazy because he can't come up with his own content.

If you just took the models without permission bad on you but if they let you and then turned around and said no then that's bad on them.
anyways now you have a chance to improve your modeling skills =) that sucks about not having the explosions though, they were awesome in the space demo.
Mm. He accidentally used some of TRs GUI in some screenshots earlier. Corey asked him to remove them, but Geroenimo resisted and argued for a while. When he finally did remove them, he then posted an "explanation" that painted TR as arrogant, rude, and completely overreacting. The people who gave him permission to use AoSW, and FX stuff are on the TR team and took exception to that. They decided that they didn't want Geroenimo to use their stuff anymore, and so they rescinded that permission.
Also, it's kinda funny cause he complains about only having 2 modelers...TR only had at most 3 modelers at a time, and they frequently decided not to model or just didn't model for long periods of time. If his team has dedication, and free time, then they should recover and become even better than before.
Yeah I read all about that. Sounds like a bunch of tight wads over there. I mod for a different game and its an honor if someone wants to use your stuff. It means it is worthy. Those guys need to lighten up.

Guys, don't hate on TR, or any of the mod staff involved with this. Everyone involved has got fantastic mods, and in my opinion, as much as I love this mod, I think TR (and the other mod staffs [FX mod, AoSW]) had a legitimate reason to withdraw their permissions (go check the comments for the main section of either ORaW or TR, I forget). Please don't hate me for this, I'm just stating my honest opinion. I want ORaW as much as anyone here does.

Well, if I steal something form them, even when I had permission to use it in the first place, the mod wont be uploaded because the site admins know that.
that is just cruel man, why cant they just let you have the stuff, most of the mods say 'with credits/permission you are allowed to use' anyways. and this was going to be an awesome mod(it still is though)! Hope you can keep going, God's going to be on your side not theirs right now :)!

Shame that the ground/Galactic conquest has been put-back, but on a brighter note I never did like the Corvettes you used from AoSW and I never really liked them in AoSW either.
