The client and server have been updated to Beta 1.1_01. Also, I have a theory for an update schedule.
The server update isn't mandatory, but it's HIGHLY recommended.
Rewrote Leaf Decay for the seventeenth time, and as a result..
..fixed HUGE fps drops in single player
..fixed players getting spammed with data and getting disconnected in SMP
Fixed the item dupe bug in SMP
Fixed “fancy” characters not working in the game by detaching font resources from the code.

Everyone who has bought the game can download the latest nightly build. These will almost certainly be quite buggy.
Before doing a release, we make a special Release Candidate build. You can download these as well, and they're supposed to be not buggy. (But they will be. ;))
Once the release candidate works fine, it will be released as the new official version. This will probably be once or twice per month.
Perhaps something like that might work!

I wish to tell you all that, as of yesterday, I am no longer in contact with Mojang. There were some personal and communication issues, and some demotions were made. I shall leave it as that.
I am typing this, as I feel you deserve to know how, if we win, the cake implementation process will happen.
As such, I am unsure as to when cake will be added if we win. It may take a day after the awards, it may take a number of weeks. But I cannot contact them if we win the awards due to aforementioned issues.
Award notification will likely be between ModDB and Mojang from now on, if we do win.
