It's official!

Hey there,
after 3 years in part-time development, we have finally decided for an official release date. Also, we have new, cool and exciting features we want to share with you.

Today we want to talk about:

  • Release Date
  • Development Update
  • Cooler Maps
  • Level Editor
  • Steam Workshop

Release Date

We are finally able to give you an exact date. It is April 11, 2019. That is roughly 3 years after we started to work on this game in our spare time. We have been putting a lot of effort into the development for the past weeks and months and we are finally able to soon switch from completing technical features to polishing the game.
We are so grateful that you all supported us through this time. We would have never come so far without you and your help.

Development Update

We have come very far with development during the past weeks. First of all, we managed to beat our largest issues with the online multiplayer and are going to complete the development on our network tech in the coming days. One of the last big issues was interacting with all the small debris in the game. We sat down together and beat the problems in a joint effort.
We also improved the gameplay during recent development. We felt that the driving was still a bit too wonky sometimes, so we tried to increase the stabilization of the tanks. This lead to us being able to drive around with ease, which in turn is much more fun. Also, we felt that aiming was too hard and hitting your targets was quite difficult. It still is too hard to hit your targets sometimes, but we have already improved it by playing around with the numbers a bit.

An example of how well the game is synchronized online.

Cooler Maps

We felt, that our maps kind of lacked something. So we went back to the drawing board and thought about what we could improve further to make the maps more exciting. We figured it would help to remove the square format constraint, add some variation to the floor height and also to introduce holes to the floor. We were surprised by the level of diversity we suddenly got from the additional freedom. Have a look at what we can build now. The overlay you see on the image is a placeholder of our Level Editor UI.

Level Editor

We decided that our game needs a level editor. Not just for us, but also for the community. We believe that you will be able to create endless fun with this tool we have been working on for a while now. You will gain access to all the tools we use to create our maps. At the moment we are still working on it and setting up a user interface but we have made a short video for you to gain a sense of what you can do with the editor.

Steam Workshop

We also decided that you should be able to share your creations with the community. That is why we will add Steam workshop support to the game. You will be able to browse the workshop from within the game. If you upload your map to the workshop you will be able to play it online with your friends.

That's it for this update...

Thank you so much for all your support, you keep us going. We hope that you are as happy with the release date as we are. If you want to stay closer to the development come by on our Discord and say hi there. :)

We really are looking forward to the release day and are excited about what's to come.
Thank you,
Jannik and Lukas

Hi, your IndieDB page is tagged for Linux but the Steam page is Windows only? What's happening with the Linux support? :)
