We invite the community to join us while we count down the days before the release. In celebratory fashion, we will be posting various screenshots and descriptions/overviews of all our newly revamped 0.49 maps. Be sure to check back daily for those!
We will pre release 0.49 in our official IRC channel, #TC:Elite @ Quakenet.org, at 18:00 GMT. Shortly after, the download will be available on our homepage.

awesome, ill only have to download ET then...how many new maps if any? cause that was my problem before, lack of maps. Either way im still downloading, and playing for awhile. I always checked up on this mods webpage looking for the new release. Does this release have that awesome new climbing feature I saw in that one video?

i was just on my way over to the tce section to make a post about this glad to see GrooveSix and Team Terminator made the update already.
If you have not checked this out you really should. This could be one of the best mods i have ever played. even the current build is fantastic.

If you are interested in checking out this mod (which i strongly recommend you do) and want some good people to play it with CollectiveGamers.com will be hosting a North American Central Server that should be up on friday for the release. TeamSpeak will be running and if you have any problems getting your game going or you simply just want to come and game with some great people you are invited to do so.

umm any ways the teaser was amazing. this looks very promising, hours of game play lay ahead (maybe not for mac users, i dont know). i will definitly download this if it ever makes it to osx.........

TCE 0.49 will have a Mac version - so starting this Friday Mac users can now join in with the rest of us.
Minimum system requirements:
# Mac OS X 10.3
# G4 or G5 processor, 800 Mhz minimum
# 512 MB RAM.
# 64 MB OpenGL compliant 3D video card.
# 750 MB free hard disk space. (200MB for ET and 500MB for TC:E)
# 56.6k modem or better Internet connection. Broadband recommended for games with more than 8 players.
Yes pvt. Johnson, it will work on Macs ;)
I am preety sure .49 is a full install and doesn't require .48
