Question 01: What is your favorite game that Steam have?
Definitely the first Rising Storm game! It's a standalone expansion set in the Pacific Theater of WW2 for the FPS game Red Orchestra 2. There are many things to love in this game. First of all it is a thoroughly polished, high-value product, where everything, from the main menu to the music to the UI, comes together to create a compelling and immersing atmosphere. Secondly, it is not a mere mappack for Red Orchestra 2; the gameplay of Rising Storm leans much more towards asymmetrical warfare, and the maps are more open and have a stronger feeling of progression. Thirdly, it is a perfect example of a successful modding team which took the plunge to create a commercial game.
Question 02: What is the worst game you ever tried on Steam?
This is a tough question, but I would say Company of Heroes 2. Although it features many technical advancements over its classic predecessor, it never comes even close to replicating its magic. Another cardinal sin is its poor optimization: the game has always been too resource demanding for what it actually is and looks like, it ran pretty badly on release and still does so over five years later. It doesn't help either that it had questionable writing for its singleplayer campaign, spawning quite a nasty controversy.
Question 03: What game do you hope you can get on Steam this year?
I would like to get Tannenberg. I have a weakness for FPS games which strive for a certain level of realism, authenticity and historicity, and Tannenberg, just like its predecessor Verdun, fits the bill. The faction rooster is fascinating, featuring countries such as Austria-Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, in addition to better known heavy-weights such as Germany and the Russian Empire. I have heard good things about this game and I would like to get my hands on it.
1) I always have to go with Half-Life 2. I mean, that's why I'm always here looking at all the mods for it, I can't get enough.
2) Oh man, there was a time I was really into indie horror games and I picked up one called Final Take. It was about 20 minutes long for 5 bucks and it was just a a slender clone with this laughably bad narration and it was graphically hideous. If I were to pick a title that had a bigger budget, to be more fair, I'd say Shadow Complex Remastered because it takes all the good stuff about metroidvania and throws it out the window.
3) After the Shadow Complex tragedy I'd like to find a more satisfying metroidvania, Rabi-Ribi is lookin' pretty good.
1) Neptunia VII. It's not often a game pulls me in so deep.
2) Mortal Royale... I wish to forget this disaster...
3) Red Alliance.
A1: Currently it is Titan Quest or Grimdawn
A2: I seem to always have a bad moment each time trying Red Orchestra 2, either game crash or stuck. But Dota 2 deserve to be put in the worst game I've ever tried on steam.
A3: Cities Skyline.
The comp is back - woohoo!
1. Best game... Not an easy decision, but I'd say DoW2 Retribution. While the campaign is nowhere as good as DoW2 and Chaos Rising, it *is* a (standalone) expansion of DoW2. Plus there's some amazing lines in there (like the entirety of the Ork campaign for example). But what gets it to this position is Last Stand. A fairly straightforward co-op horde survival that does a LOT with relatively little. It has amazing longevity too, there's STILL people playing it.
2. A safe answer would be Bad Rats. SO bad, it gets to stay on the store only for its meme value.
If only games that I have played personally, it's gotta be Warhammer 40k Regicide.
I'm a sucker for turn-based tactics and so it seemed right up my alley. But, it tries mixing tabletop chess with turn-based tactic videogames and fails at both. Very disappointed.
3. Battletech, definitively. There is nowhere near enough good mecha videogames. Only reason I didn't buy it yet is because I can't afford squat. Here's to hoping for a good Winter sale.
Answer 01: Company of Heroes 2
Answer 02: Earth 2160
Answer 03: Forts
Answer 01: Portal 2
Answer 02: Screeps
Answer 03: Tom clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Answer 01: Counter strike global offensive
Answer 02: Arma III
Answer 03: Overkill's the walking dead
1) Hard one, but I have to say Empire at War. Been playing it for over 10 years now, before steam even had it. The game it self is no longer up to today s standards but there comes in moddb, with the modding community still active and delivering masterpiece after masterpiece, the game has retained it's charm.
2)There are plenty bad games at my steam library, all of them candidates, however, I can have to give it to a game that is not bad, but extremely disappointing. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. I can already hear the outrage of many fans but take into consideration that I got it without knowing almost anything about it, played the first stage and found it amazing, only to discover it was the ONLY stage. Sure there are "side missions" on the same map but the story stops at the beginning and I payed way too much for a tech demo.
3)AC: Odyssey, I'm a bit burned with Ubisofts games but damn if I don't want to play this, only reason I didn't buy at launch is because I forbid myself of ever doing that again with their titles, no matter how good they seem.
A1:COH2
A2:Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight
A3:Rising Storm 2: Vietnam
1) That will absolutely be Mount & Blade: Warband. I have spent many years playing it, even before having a steam account. Ah! The experiences I have gotten out of that game are invaluable!
2) That would be Operation Flashpoint: ed River due that it cant be played, it was so buggy! It always crashed after 20 mins in-game, and my PC was more than able to run it. It was a complete waste of my money.
3) The game I have always wanted since its annoucement was Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, but since that game hasn´t been released I can say that the second game that I want the most is Frostpunk, a really clever game, in the strategy genre, its not your typical RTS game, this one implements some nice and fresh mechanics with a nice background story and some cool graphics.
Answer 01: Hearts of Iron 4 (And Company of Heroes 2)
Answer 02: Crossout
Answer 03: Middle-earth™: Shadow of War™ (i only have the demo )
1. I think my favorite game on Steam has to be Age of Empires II, I just have so many good memories of that game and it was one the first I've played so it has a really special place in my heart.
2. The worst game I've ever played has to be Garfield Kart 2, my friends and I all bought it as a joke for 0.99 Cents but man that game is definitely something. Not something I'll ever play again.
3. I'm not really sure what game I hope to get this year, but if I really had to choose one I would definitely go with Total War: Warhammer. I've always been a fan of the Warhammer 40k universe and the Warhammer Fantasy universe and I think it would be really awesome to play that game with my friends who own it.
