I've been inspired by gameplay in other shooters and non-shooters. Some ideas I've had included classes and level ups.
Classes may include:
(1) Melee
(2) Trace Attack
(3) Explosive Projectile
(4) Energy Projectile
(5) Deity
(6) Non-class
or I could go with the usual standard classes, which prob wouldn't make much sense here...
(1) Tank (2) Non-Tank
New powerups: (1) Turrets (remove these from regular loadout, add a couple new options) (2) Speed (3) .... that's all i can think of now
the level progression may go something like this
(1) more health/ammo
(2) more weapon choices
(3) jetpack (toggle jetpack or jumping)
(4) even more health/ammo
(5) even more weapon choices
(6) jump higher
(7) double projectiles
RPG elements are always a great idea in games. I love leveling up and increasing my characters abilities to kills enemies in new ways.
