wow, thanks i wish i knew this before i went out and physically bought the non steam version.
You should be grateful the steam version is continously bugged when it comes to mods some peoples works others don't mines the latter half the time.
I'm not getting it to work on mine. My computer runs Windows 7 and when I follow this all I get is the vanilla version
For those who can't get mods working on sweaw and are still curious, the suggested path C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\star wars empire
at war\Mods for installing mods is invalid. The correct one is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\star wars empire
at war\GameData\Mods
I don't have the steam version, I have the gold pack. I installed both games in separate folders, but cannot find any info on how to install these mods. There are no xml files or mod directories. There is no way for me to find a way to select a mod from the launch screen either. Would someone please create a tutorial for installation with the Gold Pack please?
Ok, make a Mods folder in "GameData" then extract the mod file into that then drag the icon onto the desktop and double click the mod icon.
I play sweawfoc and I can't find the Mods folder. Is it one I have to create or something like that? Also, game data and all this stuff. I need help understanding since I have NEVER modded on Steam before, nor attempted to do so.
Yes, you need to create the Mods folder yourself.
For those who wish to use mods on steam you
place mod in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\star wars empire
at war\Mods
For Forces of Corruption you place mods in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\star wars empire at war\corruption\Mods
THEN in the Steam Client (Game Libary) right click the game, click Properties, Set Launch Options, Then type:
sweaw MODPATH=Mods\ "MOD NAME"
so looks like this sweaw MODPATH=Mods\ Alliance2.3X
Then click OK then go back to the Steam Client and press play to automatically load the Mod of your choosing
Be careful though because I don't believe that the Forces of
Corruption file is patched correctly, however there is nothing you can
do about this... and its fault is entirly down to Steam
Also on another note if you Start up the game and the screen size is too small or offset to the left/right you can correct this by increasing the screen size via the ingame video options
