Siege of Tilbaut

Recent History of Tilbaut

Tilbaut castle was built centuries ago by the Calradic Empire, the currenty ruiling family, House Vrailly, traces their lineage to those who had first occupied and ruled the castle. And so, they were a powerful and influential noble house in the Kingdom of Swadia. The Vrailly family had been powerful landholders for generations and used Tilbaut castle as a base for their military and political operations.

The castle saw its fair share of battles and conflicts throughout its history, but it was in the year 1292 that would prove to be the most challenging for the Vrailly family and their kingdom. The Kingdom of Swadia was invaded by the neighboring Kingdom of Vaegirs and after a long and bloody war, Swadia was defeated and its force was broken. The Vrailly family, who had fought valiantly in the war, were forced to swear fealty to their new liege, Tsar Yaroglek, and their lands were taken as a form of punishment for their loyalty to the defeated kingdom.

Despite this, the Vrailly family managed to retain their titles and their castle, thanks to the clever and diplomatic actions of their leader, Lord Hubert. He was able to negotiate with the Tsar and convince him that the Vrailly family were not a threat and that they would be more useful as loyal subjects than as enemies. Tsar Yaroglek agreed and the Vrailly family was allowed to keep their titles and their lands, including Tilbaut castle.

Over the years, the Vrailly family slowly lost it's influence as the Tsar's nobles fixed their eyes on Tilbaut. Yet their castle remained a symbol of their loyalty and power. Today, the castle is still occupied by the Vrailly family, despite being under occupation by a foreign ruler, the Vrailly family has managed to maintain their titles and their castle, a testament to their resilience and determination. The house managed to survive despite their kingdom losing the war.

The Siege of Tilbaut

Jean de Vrailly, a dreaded commander, stood at the edge of a vast field, gazing upon the castle of Tilbaut in the distance. The castle, with its high walls and imposing towers, was the last stronghold of his rebellious niece, who had seized control of the castle and refused to yield it to Jean's army. For months, Jean had been preparing for the siege of Tilbaut. He had gathered his men and supplies, and made plans to starve out the defenders and battering the walls with his siege engines.

But as his army marched towards Tilbaut, they were met with fierce resistance. Jean's supply lines were constantly attacked by his niece's forces, and his men were forced to fight for every inch of ground. Despite the setbacks, Jean pressed on, determined to retake the castle and restore his honor and his family's future. He ordered his men to construct siege engines and dig trenches, and as the days passed, his army grew stronger and more confident. The siege of Tilbaut is upon us.
