Post news Report RSS Side by Side: More Map Comparisons

Another comparison between concept and actual map, and PV is on the lookout for talent!

Posted by on

First of all we wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who voted for us in the MOTY competition. We're currently in the running for the Top 5, with some big name talent such as Black Mesa, DIPRIP, and Resistance and Liberation.

Today we present to you another side by side comparison of Twin Bridges, Project Valkyrie's first released map:

On the left, you have the original concept by Jordan Ratzlaff, and on the right, brushwork by Vic Krengel, textures by Vic Krengel and Frank Rapoza, and props by Rashad Foux.

As we draw closer to our first release, we'll be looking for more talent to add to the team for our first content patch. We're currently looking for Texture Artists, Prop Modelers and Mappers. Knowledge of the tools required for the Source engine is mandatory. Interested applicants can contact me directly at zan@blackened-interactive.com

Nice work guys, just need to get your text decals done and self illuminate the lights on the textures with your alphas... looking good...

Thanks again Captain Source. Getting the $selfillum on those lights really brings the scene alive. As it happens I'm working on both of those things right now :)

If you need a hand with anything, let me know... took me a while to get the right with it... a good idea is to effect the surrounding area using a light shadow colored the same as the light, then adding that shadow to the alpha.

Solid stuff, even if the lighting seems to be a little bit boring.

It is a little bland at the moment. I'll spice it up a bit.

Thanks.
