Well people, I havent posted in a while, but what can I say, the progress has been going awesome. Everyday there is something new that will bring us closer to a full beta release. We also hired a new skinner, his name is Terminus, and he will be here to help out MrFu709851 who is currently having problems with his computer. Also, there has been a lot of talk about Iron Sights. What was originally decided by the team was to make our Iron Sight view as an image or a sprite, but once we hired Bittles, a very skillful animator, we have decided to use models and animations instead. If you're curious how this will work, I'll explain a bit. First off, once in game, the weapon is shown in a normal view (ala CS or DoD style). If you press a certain bound key, an animation is shown of the weapon being drawn into Iron Sight mode. Your accuracy is increased in this mode and you have a slight zoom, but your movement speed is greatly restricted. If you press the key again, an animation is shown of the weapon being pulled back down to the default hip level. Accuracy is very low in this normal view, but you can move faster. As a better example of how our Iron Sight viewing mode will function, Bittles has made a little AVI preview of his work. Click here to view the animation (DivX 5.05 required).
