Its been a VERY long time since an update, but recently Petroglyth did a patch for FOC out of the blue, which added a few cool new things to the game, inc steam support and fixing multiplayer (kinda)
So jump on steam, look in the workshop for a newerish version of the mod than the one on here
Now the question youve been asking for a LONG time... will I be working on the mod?
Atm i dont really have the time. I will be trying to fix a few things as they are reported, if i can.
Im also going to try and get Bab5 finished at some point over the next few weeks (it will take a WHILE to do)
Anyway Theres an update for you

Any word on the FPS tanking on galactic conquest?
I tried recording, but it maintained a solid 3 fps.
