Today's updates are the Soviet Bomber and Soviet Corvettes. With a streamlined profile and powerful missile weaponry, Red bombers make capital ships look like flying bullseyes. Soviet Corvettes, designed for recon and anti-fighter work, take out German swarms with ease.
Lastly, fighters and interceptors are part of any serious Soviet fleet, defending larger ships and firing tracking missiles at other smaller craft.
The fighters are not intended as long range units. They are short range interceptors based on capital ships. As such, they have much reduced fuel loads. Scout fighters use a different type of drive system that is not based on combustible fuel (it is called a Sakharov drive). And, of course, it's a game, and based in the 22nd century involving aliens (who arrived in the 1940's). So, it doesn't occur in our universe, and the laws of physics aren't necessarily identical to those in our universe. And if that isn't enough, it's also a game.
lol, jets in space. What?
That might fly if they were semi atmospheric on earth, but on mars the air is not dense enough to support fixed wing aircraft.
Not to mention a conventional jet wingplan doesn't provide enough fuel space to also handle the required oxygen for combustion or the location of reactive thrusters for directional control.
At the very list you could attach external fuel tanks to the tops and bottoms of the fuselage and put trux extentions for assorted space required instruments (directional thrusters, gyroscopes, external communication devices, solar panels)
That still doesn't answer that an aircraft like in the 4th screenshot (space borne flanker) would NEVER survive reentry with its high speed low camber wings.
GOOD AERODYNAMICS =! GOOD SPACECRAFT
Seems someone slept through grade 11 physics
This mod looks beautiful. I hope it gets released soon. Nice job. :D
looks very cool, a pity for me that its for Empire at War :(
