These are the ranks of the New Galactic Republic, from highest to lowest.

Supreme Chancellor

The Head of State and Leader of The New Galactic Republic. the Supreme Chancellor has strong leadership abilities in the eyes of both the military and the people. Able to coordinate attacks with the CAAF. Sometimes seen in battle giving a large morale boost to troops.

President

The Chancellor's right hand and president of the senate. He is there to be both a diplomat to foreign factions and a diplomat here in the New Republic. Able to coordinate attacks with the Supreme Chancellor and the CAAF. Sometimes seen in battle giving a morale boost to troops.

Commander of All Armed Forces (CAAF; 2nd in Command)

One of the greatest military geniuses throughout the New Republic. Coordinates attacks and answers to only the President, and The Chancellor

Commander of the Army

The right hand of the CAAF. Commands the army and coordinates attacks with senior officers. Directs battles either from a flagship or away from the conflict. Can enter a battle, but it is not recommended.

Commander of the Navy

The left hand of the CAAF. Commands the Navy and coordinates attacks with senior officers. Directs battles either from a flagship or away from the conflict. Can enter a battle, but it is not recommended.

Senator

A senator is one of the few appointed to represent their planet and peoples. They decide on major courses of action through out the New Republic. While a Senator is not always seen as a military figure. A few have become famous military commanders.

General

Generals take orders from the Commander of the Army. On occasions, a general will take an order from the CAAF. The general coordinates land battles. Generals are proficient fighters and can enter battle with their troops.

Admiral

Admirals take orders from the Commander of the Navy. On occasions, an admiral will take orders from the CAAF. The admiral coordinates space battles. Admirals are proficient fighters and can enter battle with their troops.

Captain

Captains command Naval vessels in combat. They are extremely proficient fighters and are highly decorated.

Colonel

The colonel is the army equivalent of the captain. Colonels are highly decorated and very proficient in combat. They command battalions of 300-500 men.

1st Lieutenant

1st lieutenants show very impressive combat skill and bravery and are the the executive officers of a platoon. They are moderately decorated.

2nd Lieutenant

2nd lieutenants show impressive combat skill and bravery and are the second highest-ranking officers in platoons. They are moderately decorated.

Sergeant

The highest-ranking non-commissioned officer in a company. Sergeants lead squads into combat. They fight very well and are moderately decorated.

Corporal

Corporals are the second highest-ranking officers in squads, and will lead a squad in the absence of a sergeant. They fight well and are moderately decorated.

Private

The bulk of the fighting force, privates are the lowest-ranking members of the army. They are decorated a little.

Star Pilot

The pilot is the main backbone of the New Republic fleet, flying fighters and bombers into battle. Pilots are the lowest official rank in the Navy. They are decorated a little.
