Хей! Первое, мы переименовались, и теперь наш проект называется Quantum Paradox (Escape From Petersburg сохранится как рабочее название).

Второе. Мы рады представить вам 20-минутный геймплей демо-версии нашего мода. Однако разработку на source 1 мы прекращаем, и переходим на souce 2 на базе HLA. Так что в ближайшее время ждите новостей на этот счёт. Данную версию на source 1 мы пока выкладывать не будем, но со временем вероятно она появится тут.

Также в нашей команде вакантны следующие места (с примерами работ):

  • Лвл-дизайнер с профессиональным знанием своего дела
  • 3D-моделлер, с опытом работы в 3dsmax, Maya, или Blender
  • Специалист в области трёхмерной анимации, в том числе и персонажей
  • Texture artist с опытом работы в Adobe Photoshop
  • Скриптер, наличие опыта работы с AI, с хорошим знанием движка source, с готовностью изучать source 2

Hey! First, we renamed, and now our project is called Quantum Paradox (Escape From Petersburg will be saved as the working name).
Second. We are pleased to present you a 20-minute gameplay of the demo version of our mod. However, we stop developing on source 1, and move on to source 2 based on HLA. So in the near future, wait for news on this subject. We will not post this version on source 1 yet, but over time it will probably appear here.

Неплохой мод ,но...
1)Едва сделали мод на source и уже на source 2 переходите ,даже не выпустив демку ,странно...,но надеюсь она всё же появится тут
2)Для оружия лучше использовать отечественные модели например для пистолета это макаров Gamebanana.com
и т.д
Кстати уже есть скины зомби ,комбайнов и т.д,почти...,из HL Alyx на gamebanana, можешь взять их оттуда на замену основных моделей

Не надо нам никаких зомби из ХЛА в Хл2 это не вписывается никаким образом!

Man, I'd love to play that demo! Hope you change your mind and release it! So much effort was put into it just for it to sit idle on a hard-drive as you switch to Source 2! D:

Hmm, not sure about that move to source 2.

Thing is, I don't even think we have the SDK for it, so you can only really make maps based on the VR thing or whatever, but it isn't going to make things more simple for you and the rest of the people who are working with you... that's if you are working with anyone else, but anyway. It won't be a simple port to source 2 sort of thing to do, it's more than likely going to break things you've introduced and just in general make things harder. Sure, it'll look alot better in many areas if done correctly, but generally doing a port like this will just make things harder and I reckon will make things more or less janky. Honestly, if you really want to go to source 2, you'd want to finish the source 1 version of the mod fully FIRST. Then later do the source 2 version.

Seriously, don't waste your time like this with porting to the newer engine, just because it's there. Do that after you're done with the current version of the mod.

As far as I know, HLA also has no proper friendly npcs/followers? So you'd either have to hack something together or hope for sdk code to get released, and I'm not sure if it's in valve plans at all

Development on source 1 has yet to be very long. At the moment, only 30% is ready. I think it's just worth it over time to open the finished parts of the project, with the final decision on the transition.

Just curious then, what will you do with the project if Source 2 doesn't do what you need it to? What if it just breaks more than it does fix?

Seriously. I know Source 1 can be a pain, but just because you're encountering it's issues because it's an old engine, doesn't mean moving to this brand new engine is the way to go about it, it won't magically solve your problems and/or issues you had with the previous engine.

Not only could you be wasting your time trying to get it to work correctly and have every single custom thing you've done work correctly, but not everyone has access to HLA/Source 2, you're in this case pushing away most of your audience and kinda indirectly forcing them to go spend time upgrading, etc, so they get onto the Source 2 train.

It hasn't been out for ages, it hasn't had time to settle fully like Source 1 has (seeing how it has a bunch of tools and even SDKs) and only certain groups of people will have access to HLA/Source 2. Promising projects like this in the past that do the exact same thing (moving to another engine), usually end up dead. Not saying yours will, but there are many flaws here going about this transition that it could have a high chance of doing that. Seriously think about it.

I think you guys should stick with Source 1 the Source 2 is great and more detailed but very wasting time to make it.

Are you people aware that the code of Source 2 isn't available yet?

Please don't repeat the same mistakes as Ivan's Secrets ( leaving for CryEngine and thinking that they would release in months, but then they found bigger problems and development died ) or HL2 Enhancement Mod ( stopped all development because "Source 2 was imminent after releasing Dota 2 on it, so the code will come pretty soon" ).

Граждане разработчики, товариши! Ну вот опять эта гордыня, мы не будем выкладывать мод. Даже демо. ПОЧЕМУ? "опасаемся использования нашего контента". Какого контента-то? Я бы понял, если бы вы полностью нарисовали свое оружие, все прибамбасы, зарядки (дело-то в России происходит). Какой у вас там контент-то свой?

Теперь по видео. Мод слишком темный и мрачный. Знаете, иногда в spb всё-таки бывает солнышко, и срач там не везде. Слишком много наложено всего на улицах.

Вот я сейчас придумал только что. Сделайте как демо, только без всего, чисто город и не разрушенный, Пара улиц, несколько дворов-колодцев, что бы можно было походить. Без оружия, стрельбы, зомбей и кровищи. Здорово, что бы люди увидели, какой спб. Не думаю, что много так уж работы будет. сделайте, пожалуйста!
