An small update about the mods porting status regarding AS2 and CtA

Rising Empire News

Hey folks, just a quick note about moving the mod to the newer engine.

I just spent like 5 minutes to port the mod from AS1 to AS2 - yep, that's the result of modding on professional level, whoop whoop! ;)

As already said, depending on the improvements with Call to Arms, we might switch over to that at game some point. If I feel like it's not worth it, then we'll stick with AS2. Simple as that. For now the mod is fully enhanced and operational in Assault Squad 2 and looking damn good! :)

My advice is not to jump the gun; be patient.

wow, it took me like 2 days for me haha. All those crashes on startup.

And regarding call to arms, I'm seriously hoping sometime in the future after the game is nearly completed and the engine is worked on, that they increase the flag limits so I can keep making some nice code addons.

Does that mean AS1 won't be seeing anymore releases, I mean i don't mind that much, i'll be a little sad to be missing this awesome mod. I had pretty much decided i wasn't getting AS2 (and CoH2) based on feedback. But i'm always open to changing my mind.

you should definitely change your mind, especially after all the massive patching they have done. (and mods)

You think so? I mean the first game is amazing and only cost me 10 dollars. Do you think the 2nd one is worth the purchase for its price?

I recommend getting it when it's on sale. The game doesn't offer much new stuff compared to AS1, so its not a full price title in my opinion. It's mostly technical stuff that improved. Less crashes, engine runs better, some visuals have been upgraded, better online support, ingame steam support.

Hmmm, well then i think i'll keep an eye on it, it can't hurt to switch over some time, i have already put my moneys worth into AS1.

Do not buy company of heroes, the squad health system ruins every strategic element of the game.

That is nice that you are supporting a fellow Star Wars mod, im definitely going to use both of them because one had Rebels and Empire one has CIS and Republic.

In my advice, just stick with AS2. It'll be easier in the long run plus I literally just bought it for this mod when it's out. I don't want to have to get another game. <.<
