It's first use, during the Spanish Civil War in 1936, gave the FlaK-18 it's fearful reputation as an effective Anti-Aircraft and Anti-Tank gun. Following it's success in France during the 1940 BlitzKreig, it proved to be a very powerful weapon against the Allies in the vast deserts of North Africa. It's 88mm L/56 cannon, with high velocity shells, had a devastating effect on Allied armor and the morale of their crews throughout the entire war.
