Community Update number five for Battlefield 2: Australian Forces!

For anyone that read arkanis50’s interview with AusBattlefields.com, you will be well aware that the Australian Forces team are still hard at work on the mod. However, since the publishing of that interview last month, we have encountered a few “real life” issues that will indefinitely delay the upcoming 0.3 release.

To make up for the delay, here are a few more bits and pieces from the mod to checkout in the meantime:

M4 Carbine (modelled by BEEX)

Typically carried by the Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR), the M4 Carbine has been fitted with an Eclan scope, forward handgrip, infrared illuminator and visible laser attachments. The M203 grenade launcher has been removed and replaced with a forward grip in an attempt to keep the Australian Spec Ops class balanced.

RPG-18 (modelled by Vando)

The RPG-18 Mukha is a Russian short-range, disposable light anti-tank rocket launcher.
Similar in both appearance and in functionality to the M72 LAW, these weapons are carried with the part of the launch tube collapsed making the weapon much more compact. When preparing to fire, the soldier using the RPG-18 extends the tube. Sights are mounted on the top of the tube with the trigger located just below the rear peep sight.

The Battle For Termez (created by Vando)

Australian Forces have entered from southern Uzbekistan in order to engage and destroy MEC military facilities in the territory near the Afghanistan border. Reconnaissance by Allied forces in the region has revealed a significant armoured presence in the mountains.

That’s about it for Community Update 5. We will make sure to keep everyone informed about the release of 0.3.
