Following last week's update "The Calm" we would like to introduce the other half of the British infantry squad.

In Part 1 we saw the 3 main roles within the squad: Squad Leader, Rifleman, and Bren Gunner. Today we are going to see three more specialized squad roles.

The Assault Gunner in the squad is dedicated to close combat. Officially, as assistant squad leader he would carry a rifle; however it was far more common for him to discard the rifle in favour of a Sten gun to add close quarters punch to the squad's assaults.

The Engineer would represent attached sapper units. He was equipped with the standard infantry man's rifle, however also carrying explosive charges, wire cutters and other paraphernalia to support attacks on enemy strong points.

Finally, the Grenadier represented the other support element of the squad. Equipped as a regular riflemen, the grenadier also carried a cup launcher which attached to the muzzle of his rifle, giving it the ability to launch rifle grenades, both of the AP and HEAT varieties. The HEAT round was weak, but still capable of penetrating the top armour of German tanks. The anti-personnel round was the same Mills Bomb carried by riflemen, but with an added flat metal base for the cup launcher, giving it a range of around 100 yards.

These three classes represent the last of our squad element classes for the British and Commonwealth Armies.

Piats were platoon level, issued out to squads. Thus, not part of squad classes. But you will find them in Traction Wars eventually:)
