Post news Report RSS New BB trajectory

After weeks of searching I've finally found the right code.

Posted by on

I've been working on a new BB trajectory for a while, and I finally found the right codes to adjust it.
And here is the result.

This is the old concept of firing a BB.
The BB would be fired from the exact center of your vision and then fall depending on the gravity and the speed.

This is the new firing concept, the BB will start aproxx at the tip of the gun and then travel towards the center of your vision. This means that the dot in reddotsights aren't correct at close range because the dot will still be in the center of your vision, just like IRL.

This is what it will look like when you fire the airsoftguns.
The BB will start a little lower than usually and then travel towards the center of your vision and then fall as you can see on my illustration

I've have a couple of pics on my website that might illustrate it.

I'm not sure how the it works, but I think that the BB keeps the offset which means that scopes aren't 100% accurate anymore (not that the BB is accurate but...)
Anyways, it looks awesome, and I've been searching for this since I tried the mod with BF2 v1.41 (it has the function built in in the engine)

Perfect trajectory! Airsoft guns always shoot higher so the BB can reach longer distances.

Well, they don't actually rise or fly different than before, it just looks like the red line, but it's all I need.

use ObjectTemplate.gravityModifier -1 (or any number of your choice, but with minus) so the projectile goes higher after fired
then ObjectTemplate.drag 30 (around 30, experiment) so the projectile gets on the ground. I think it should work, but I'm not sure.

Nevermind, I just have checked and BBs go insanely high all the time and don't want to fall down.

Actually, there might be a way to do it.
It depends on what drag is.
If it's acceleration, then it might be possible to make it so that it drags the BB down, instead of back.

Might be deacceleration though, and in that case it won't work.
