Let's face facts, you can only update something old so long and finally in the end when you look back after all that updating, you realize it isn't good.
The tunnel, or 03_Dream has been in development since february.
It has actually been through a lot more than you think and the reason these recent pictures look empty is because my SDK used to be riddled with random crashes that eventually lead to one that deleted all brushes and entities.
That was a month ago.
While I was still down, I remembered that I still had the "shell" of the map and completely redid lighting, some textures, and even the beginning of the map.
It looks pretty good for my first map that i've ever actually spent time on.
But not good enough.
A few days ago I stopped and said "Why am I updating this, when it doesn't look very good and is horribly scaled?
So today I immediately got to completely revamping what I already have and it is looking very promising.
I don't have any of the textures added yet, so they are all dev textures.
But so far today, I did in 30 minutes what had previously taken me a day.
You know why? Because I have learned so much since the start of the map, that it is so simple for me now. Hell, when I first made the tunnel, I put it together from long, rotated, rectangular blocks. Now I figured out I can make one easily from the block tool itself.
Same goes for the Alpha build itself.
The menu is messed up, there's a horrible texture problem on the menu, and it's horribly unoptimized. It needs to be fixed really badly or just started over from scratch.
So yeah, mod production is probably pushed back a few months (not that I have a release date yet).
I promise you, this map is going to be ten times better than the previous one.
