Mod DB Stuff
- In just a few hours voting will be locked down and PHASE 2 of the Mod of the Year competition will begin. So sit tight, we are about to announce the TOP 100 mods and let me assure you, it is bloody difficult picking your TOP 3!
- A new feature we are about to trial is a monthly map & model making competition (with prizes) over at Addon DB. So if you have suggestions, we'd love to hear them!
- Christmas decorations are up - gotta love the festive season!
Other Stuff
- A fellow modder and professional game developer Hourences has just released a must-have level design book. So mappers, add it to your XMAS list. Oh and for those after a sample, we were lucky enough to snare 2 tutorials: lighting & multiplayer floorplan.
- For the DEFCON fans (the game will be listed on Mod DB soon) a new patch has just been released which totally opens up the game for modding. Already quite a few interesting mods have been created.
- Long-time Mod DB member (and friend of many) leilei managed to get OpenArena his free standalone game mentioned on the front-page of Fileplanet. An impressive feat - here is the release post.
- GarageGames announced the beta release of Torque X Engine (for the XBOX360). Are console mods & games just around the corner?
