- Cost of making games is *crazy* according to EA's Alain Tascan - my opinion is that they should turn to and support the mod scene which continually proves it can achieve anything!
- Check out the just released zer0net mod. Reduces lag in D3, Q4 and Fear!

Come on, a thirty second advertisement allows us to compensate for the bandwidth heavy videos we're now hosting. It allows us to keep all our content fresh and free. Surely it isn't too much to ask you to sit through thirty seconds of video?

It is when you gonna look at lest 10 trailers - 300 seconds of waiting!
A little over three minutes. For watching generally over an hour of trailers. Sorry, but if these little ads are what keeps us able to show video content, I really don't see where the problem is.
Not a big deal with me, I'm willing to sit thorugh it to see a trailer. Wow, you people ar impatient.
i never liked moddb as much as i do at the moment. keep up the good work with the page guys!!!
I would have thought one ad at the start of viewing the modcast gallery would suffice, similar to IGN's ad model for their video gallery. It's quite annoying for people like me who are on relatively low (and restricted) bandwidth, to have that wasted on ads every time we click on another video.

I'm in the navy already. Don't I get to skip ahead past the ad? Oh wait, I guess they're trying to remind me to re-enlist, bwahahaha.
Padman looks good art wise, but there are plenty of levels for other games featuring small players in a large environment. I don't see what's special about this game. I've also gotten tired of deathmatch which is what it appears to be. Does anyone else still enjoy these games?

Well there are still more games featuring normal sized players in normal sized enviroments. ;) The Padmaps go back till the year 2000, they got a complete makeover for the mod though, and are getting another one for the standalone. It's not that there were tons of maps around with that scale, when Ente started doing those maps. And although there are some now, you dont get many mods with only that I think, and we are going standalone with it soon.
The Mod isnt only deathmatch, actually the main gamemode is "spray your color", where you drop a cartridge for a spraypistol when fragged, you can collect these cartridges and have to enter a teleporter to spray a logo there, only then you score. (That's in the trailer) If you spray 5 or 8 logos on one go you get extra points. Also you see how many cartridges an enemy is holding atm, and when you fragg him you can collect all of those, so you can imagine how crazy that can get at the teleporter. In Teammode you can also drop cartridges to give them to other players so you save one teleporter run or get extra points for sprayign many logos. There is also Big Balloon ( like Domination in UT) and Last Pad (Man) Standing in the game
Also you dont really use the standard weapons in the mod, some just look different but others like the boaster and killerducks, are pretty unique.
So it's not really only Standard deathmatch with tiny players no. ;)
As per the Navy ad, i don't mind it. I'm glad you went with that, (which is freakin awesome ad) as opposed to some stupid crap like the "Gamesnflix" thats all over Gamespot right now. Understandable...banbwidth for this kinda stuff doesn't grow on trees people.
I find the ads annoying to watch every time. Watching it once should disable it.
your not paying for this or moddb, ads are needed to float a website as popular as this
Basically if it weren't for ads, no money for bandwidth so there'd be no video streaming to put a minor ad into for you guys to complain about.
re: adds
revver is an option some sites use. it puts a small add at the end of the video.
The ad system will be enhanced soon so it either:
a. appears at the end of the video, or;
b. only shows once - not every video view :D
