Editorials have long been on the minds of people swarming into the Mod DB Offices from day to day. Finally, a chance for those of us working behind the scenes to jump up on our soap box, rant a little bit and cower in fear as the public backlash nearly kills us. To this end, we will feature articles not just about mods specifically, but about the wider world of video games as a whole. Hopefully, this will help build a dialog between the modders and the casual gamers of this site and breed a place for open discussion. It may not work, but, hey, it's worth a shot.
This is also is not just for the Mod DB staff. We hope to get the ball rolling, but ultimately we would like users like yourself to contribute columns about any* gaming-related issue that is tickling your brain. If you have an idea in mind, PM or email me and we'll see if we can get you featured. We can't promise it will be updated every week or every month, but whenever the urge arrives, we'll have something there.
The first opinion column is now up, entitled An Honest Objection. You can see the link on the right-hand menu, where the Mod of the Month feature used to be posted. Have a read and tell us your thoughts. This is just another chance to "Read Something Different."
See what I did there? It's, like, get it, a variation on the logo--nevermind.
*Rants about Jack Thompson will not be posted, now or ever. He only keeps coming back because we keep talking about him. Stop it.
w00p first post.
