UPDATED WITH DAY 3 & 4 PICS! CHECK IT OUT!

Well Free Play 2005 is over for this year. I have uploaded a few extra pics and will be uploading videos pretty soon and there will also be a nice writeup of the event and things that went on!

Firstly lets introduce Free Play.

Freeplay wrote: Free Play caters for independent and DIY game developers, creatively frustrated professionals, game development students, creative gamers, modders and game artists. Developed by the indie game community for the indie game community, Free Play provides the only forum for Australian independent game developers to share knowledge, showcase their work and initiate new projects. The conference also caters to those creative makers who are increasingly adopting game development technologies and techniques
into their art practice.

So with the introduction done a few members of the Mod Database team are now in Melbourne, Australia and at this event. No point me writing any more, for a candid look into an event much smaller (but cooler) than e3, click this space! We shall update this feature daily and also share a mod promo video which showcases tons of great mods once this is done!

I hope you guys also film some footage of the event itself. I've never seen Freeplay, so it'd be cool to see the Moddb staff without the virtual barrier at this expo. :)

We're all out. I think it's strictly for the team though.

I ordered two myself. Talk to BlueWolf72.

They're team shirts, not public ones. You can always purchase this, however.

We will be doing video Footage this arthernoon of the event as we prepare to do our presentation.

We actually meet up with the boys from Dystopia last night which was awsome. Had a good chat to them over beers about the upcoming features for the mod. We will also be doing an exclusive Video interview with them which should be on the site later tonight along with some more pictures and videos!

Watch that Feature space!

If anyone is planning to attend Free-Play today, you will probably see us walking around. If so, come have a chat to us and we might let you sit in on the interviews we do.

Any chance of having some sort of interviews, features or media section on this year's Free Play?

I'd like to see interviews with anyone with Mod-leading experience: covering setting up Mods, getting the team together, building a community and keeping it all going, if possible.

Also anything on choosing the right engine for your Mod would be great. Well anything straight from the horses mouth would be great (I'm talking Mod-Makers here, no specific teams).

Could equally be from any Games Developer.

I think it's important that this sort of info gets passed 'round the ModDB community because so many good Mods die. While it's true that there's a natural culling process that has to take place to get rid of the ****** ideas, I still think that some great Mods shut down before really making their mark.
