The first details of Minecon, the Minecraft convention, have been released to PC Gamer. The event will take place on November 18th-19th and will coincide with the launch of Minecraft’s full release.

“For me, MineCon is about celebrating the full release of Minecraft,” said Notch via email. “I'm really looking forward to getting up on stage and pushing the button to upload the final build.” Read on for more details.

The convention will be held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The registration site will launch next week with tickets available to purchase and complete details of what the event will offer. We're expecting a lot of block-shaped amusements. For those keen to attend, keep an eye on Notch’s Twitter account for the announcement. Tickets are bound to go fast.

Notch also re-iterated that the launch of the game doesn't mean the end of development. “We'll just go back home and keep working on Minecraft directly after MineCon, but it does represent a huge milestone where the game finally leaves beta, something we'd never been able to do without our fans, so it feels natural to celebrate it with them.”

WHY? for god sake, why in Las Vegas? I would expect Notch as born Swede to do something in Europe, all these x-con action are in states. Very disappointed by this.:(

Just too bad they choosed such a stupid spot to hold it in. Notch is Swedish, and even though I am as well, you have to agree with that it would have been much much more suitable if they actualy held this event in Sweden.

And also, it's getting reeeaaaally tiersome that all game-events are held in "the states".

Well, you cannot tell people where to have their events, but I do agree that more events need to be help in Sweden and other parts of Europe.

it's not you overall. it's just parts.

the lying government, the religious extremists, the courrupt politicians, the invasive privacy issues, and of course, the raunchy reputation of Las Vegas.

not that other places are any better. people see england as some posh stuck-up country. I'm sure, like us, you're perfectly normal. but it's the images the countries/cities project.

I must say, I dislike america due to corrupt police, the government's assumed dominance over the rest of the world, and the privacy issues. I don't dislike the people.

Kizzy,please don't insult america.If there's one thing that i'd rather be right now,it would be america.I live in a country called Bulgaria and every aspect and most people in it are a hundrer times more worse than in the USA!Atleast in America they don't hire a drunk *** village idiot as our prime minister or let a bunch of ******* jipsies steal and build illegal homes and get away with it!Atleast in america there's no crap like there is in the wonderfull bulgaria!

Actually, our outburst of 'hatred' (which really is just frustration here) is not based on either of your examples, but simply on the amount of distance from us to Minecon.

But I blame Fox for stupidity and ignorance, not the people themselves.

@kizzycocoa
As long as human beings run our governments, there will always be liars and corrupt politicians, because that's what human beings do.

As for Las Vegas, I agree with you, some parts of it are raunchy but you don't have to go to those parts. I've personally have never been, and probably will only go once in my life.

shame it's in the USA, at least, for me. If it were in Europe, I might have been there. Too many cons are held in the USA, Europe needs more cons!
