Post news RSS Metroid Incursion Gets Unreal

Metroid Incursion will now make the switch to the Unreal 3 engine.

I know I discussed it before but it is no longer an option to stay with Source. Switching to Unreal doesn't mean you need to go out and buy a copy of Unreal Tournament 3. I will be using Unreal development kit to make a standalone game. I cannot stay with Source because the mod in-game menu now only has a video stress test. Another reason is Hammer now gets 140-160 simultaneous errors and crashes. I tried a reinstall of steam and starting new mod files. All map progress was lost when my computer was restored though I saved my models. Unreal gives me so many more features and is already closer in base to what this mod needs.

So as I said I was able to save my model progress so here are a few I have done recently.

First is the Luminoth Warrior Lance weapon.

So that will be it for a while. I will have map images for you ASAP. First I will be working on a recreation of Shooting Gallery. If you have any map suggestions for the future (Metroid locations or Stargate) then please post them. I WILL NOT DO PRIME HUNTERS MAPS.

Stargate and Metroid seems an odd tie-in, but, meh. Whatever floats your boat. Got some real potential going there.

Thanks. A lot of people ask me about the Stargate thing but meh. I can do what I want. Stargate is my all time favorite show.

I do. For anyone who bothered to read the story I just for fun explained how it happened and will probably make 1 scripted team map for it.

Glad you made the switch :) The UDK is a lot more powerful (IMO) and the map editor is a lot better.

For maps, I'd suggest an Impact Crater amp, a Pirate Research Facilities/Phendrana Drifts map, and a Skytown, Elysia map. If you use your imagination, a Crashed Ship map from Metroid II would be pretty cool.

Shooting Gallery is also a good choice. I'd recommend making a Spider Complex if you can make the Spiderball function work.

All prime 2 mp maps will be done although spider ball wont be done for some time.

Why didn't you selected the UDK as engine? When you have UT3 as game, everyone will think this is a mod for UT3, which you would have to have to play your game (Which is *not* a mod for UT3 when you use the UDK).

The UT3 community isn't *that* big, so lesser people would click on your game..

Becuase It means I might have to reformat the page from mod to game and that means changing the URL for the page so then it breaks all links to the page. If you look the URL is still mods/metroid-prime-source.

I just about blew a load in my pants from the excitement when I saw this. Sounds like you're planning to have some exciting content on here. I hope you get a playable beta (if you plan to release one) out soon so we can start playing this!
