Lux Pier

We've just released the 'proof of concept' Prototype of Lux, our First Person puzzle game all about light manipulation :)

In-game screen shot. Environment Concept. In-game screen shot.

This is a prototype demo, demonstrating only the very fundamental game elements. The short level is designed as a tutorial for the basic mechanics. Wield 'Tulip', the Light manipulation device. Use it to Reflect, Focus, Absorb, Mix and Fire Light in order to solve the puzzles within the mysterious world of Lux. The Lux prototype was created in six weeks in a team of 11, from concept to its current state. Engine, design, art, animation, all from scratch.

Please let us know what you think :)

Download Lux via ModDB

If you do not wish to download the demo you can now view the full demo video footage. This can be found in the video section of the Lux page. Moddb.com (This will reveal everything contained in the demo, so if you do plan to play it, we advise you view this video after you have played the game.)

Excellent concept using the light colour wheel to mix and activate what is needed... yes, educational and could be greatly expanded into many different areas of gameplay... great work guys...

Not all will be no. Some involve reflecting light, some involve shadows.

I had a lot of fun with this, although while playing I discovered I could go through the ground in a part of it and fly around the nether. I also discovered that while capturing light, sometimes I had to look at the ground(Directly at the light), or it wouldn't do anything. It was still a lot of fun though! I'm very impressed with what you managed to accomplish in just six weeks. Can't wait to see how much you've done in another six weeks...

Ha ha yes don't we all ;)

Well we don't have specific specs, unfortunately the engine hasn't been optimised thoroughly yet, so the game is pretty demanding for what it is. We have had it running fine on low to mid spec PC's (DX9, <1gb RAM). Hope that helps.
