Post news Report RSS Is Alive finally updated

It has been a half year since Gamma version was released. Now I am bringing you this new - Delta version.

Posted by on

Greetings, strangers!

It has been a long time since my last update, but don't worry... I am here to make it up to you ;)
The last six months I have benn working on this new version - Delta. There is a lot of changes... and lots of them you could already seen in local image section. Such as new gem qualities:

New Gems

Or new gemwords:
Gemwords

Or new boss scrolls:
Boss item making - Treehead Woodfist

Or new rune crafting (Tal crafting in this case):
Rune crafting

Or Hint scrolls were added:
Hint scrolls

... but there is still the most importatng thing, that has not been mentioned yet... and that is the Nightmare difficulty. Normal and Nightmare are now ready for your characters. Sorry, no Hell difficulty... yet :)
That doesn't mean you could not play it, but has not been modified yet. But there is nothing to worry about... the Normal and Nightmare difficulties have a lot to offer ;)

Thank you for your support, enjoy the mod, and see you in Sanctuary ;)

The Hell Realm is in the Cow level (check the image gallery)
Guide for craft is done via video (see video gallery and look for "Crafting a helmet")
And about new runewords, uniques, sets... that is simple - there are no new items in this way (crafting has been enhanced instead)
The only exception are gemwords ;)

I recommend you (and everyone) to play the mod, because the mod will guide you (you do not need guides)... just check merchant's offer, kill monsters and enjoy exploring the unknown ;)

How do you get hero's achievements for the heros signs? I've finished act 1 already and Ive yet to find anything towards adding into it.

Complete optional quests ;)
There is a merchant in each act that sells the quest scrolls - you buy it, unlock, get the ingrediences and complete. One of the rewards for completing quests are hero's achievments.

Enjoy ;)

Thanks~ Im currently stuck doing blood raven runs to get her blood for one of the optional quests (got 2 bloods of countess and bonebreaker already though....) great mod so far, if there's an official mod guides or something a link would be great to have as well!
p.s. The monster names are hilarious as well, good touch of humor while dying horribly!

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy it ;)
'Let Red Lie' is the first quest I've ever created, good choice :)

I consider writing a guide, where I'll explain most of the new things to mod...

Alright, I'm nearly done with normal figure I'd throw down some constructive criticism while it's still somewhat fresh.
Let me start off saying I'm playing as a polearm conc/ww barb, fairly standard stuff.
Act 1 seems pretty balanced as far as leveling and difficulty scaling with the exception of tristram being crazy dangerous and some of those wraiths with the holy shock aura, also it took me like 60 kills on blood raven to get her quest item from her, not sure if that's RNG being a **** or not.
Act 2 I actually had almost no problems with as far as balance went. Had some issue with the guy guarding arcanes sanctuary though (fire eye?)
Act 3 was harder than I was expecting though, this might have been due to the symptoms of having an easier time in act 2, didn't really feel pressured to gear out too much. Also what's with the immortal zombies that say they're being protected by their master? I tried to kill the "hero" of their pack to no success either, literally came back after clearing act IV just to see if they could die, and nothing.
Act IV was about as hard as I expected, needed to get more resistances to progress here, went pretty well though seemed solid.

Act V was going really well until the later end (saving Anya and after). The combinations of holy freeze, mana burn, and lack of a raven frost made killing things very challenging. But I got to the ancients through some hard work and cleaver baiting. Got to baals throne room easily enough and am currently stuck on Baal himself. The monsters he summoned were A1-easy, A2-tricky A3- impossible because they had Thorn aura, forced me to lure them out and reset him, A4-Fairly easily. A5-Hard as ever, but do-able. Baal himself had a thorns Aura, literally impossible to kill him without just doing suicide runs over and over.
Other stuff:
The quest system can be pretty good to work with, gives you something to shoot for while farming some of the mini-bosses to upgrade gear as opposed to just doing meph runs over and over, but I feel the quest items don't drop consistently enough for people to really put the effort into it. (that's how I felt at least). I'd also prefer having it so you could only do the quest once since I probably had like a million of those journal entries from the prison area cluttering my stash for the longest time.
Crafting system: I really like the concept you put in for these, but it would be nice if there was more information on it. Like rolling everything would turn it ethereal, totally caught me off-guard. I still cannot get how to craft a charm at all or craft the high-level gems yet.
Overall- XX/10 not done playing yet. t keeps things more interesting compared to vanilla for probably more veteran players by messing with the difficulty tempo a wildly. Biggest issues are trying to scrape together information while playing to figure out how to use the new quest and crafting system-which could probably be streamlined a bit better. Why do I need to have a 6 step system to craft an item? why not just get the crafting points (of X type), take those points and pour into the schematic, then transmute in the cube with the right stuff?

Thank you for expressing yourself. Now to my explanations:

1) You have chosen a build, which you would probably play also in vanilla... there is nothing wrong with it, but there are also skills which are, in my opinion, more useful, especially at normal. For example Howl or Leap (knockbacks enemies). I am trying to create a War Cry barbarian myself in this mod, so I know what I am talking about...

2) 60 kills to get quest item... yes, that was just a bad luck. The chance to drop quest item (from bosses) is around 14% (for run) at normal

3) Act 3 zombies are protected by their master (and the master is me ;)

4) Thorns... why don't you just take a bow or hire a missile merc? There is a lot of space for creativity ;)

5) More information... you are right, I'm actually preparing a guide explaining most the basics

Thanks once again for your comments and remember... enjoy ;)

No problem, it's loads of fun for sure. And yeah leap is pretty useful, let me know how that wc build is going to go, those were always hilarious in vanilla.
2) yeah RNG can be a cruel mistress, lol. Didnt find a rune or unique until late act 2.
3) So they're immortal?
4) I got a bow merc, pretty crappy :(, i'm in the process of getting her some more useful gear right now i suppose. Maybe throwing a point into berserk would counter-act thorns? haven't played against thorns aura enough to think about it.
5) Awesome. I've got a decent understanding of how it works currently but getting blindsided by all these new things at once is a bit overwhelming.
6) Keep up the good fight.
p.s. **** those slowing leaper guys in act IV

As soon my barb reaches level 30, true fun begins :)
...and then I'll let you know ;)

3) Your deduction is correct :)
4) Berserk... not a bad idea. I think it could actually work

p.s. also **** cold snipers :)

I did copy file to MODS file but can not play this mode. My cube inventory hadn't change anything.

I remember a version around year of 2002 when I was young, in which has 7 floors of hell in the Crypt of Burial Grounds full with bosses of all, has gems like your mod, also has some kinds of fruit such as grape, pineapple, radish ..., cow level ...

Now I can not find that version.
