Team debriefing
Kim (ZPSHicks)
Game Director
"Last week I finished Area A inside the CR1 map, which was all about establishing one large bunker building with two sub-levels, inspired heavily by one of the rooms from our Operations map in-development, with tunnels connecting the complex with the terrain around each side.
Yesterday I finally got Area B finalized as well, with some very interesting combat areas centered around a small tree story complex building which is lowered inside a pit of inter-connecting areas and tunnels (Picture of the Week shows a bit of this concept).
Before this sprint ends at launch Tuesday next week, I'll give our 5 weather prototypes an overhaul to move us forward here as well. :)".
Mikael (heks)
Lead Programmer
"I've been working on getting the marine animation prototype up and running properly in a networked session. As was expected this has spawned a bunch of questions, of which some of them have been answered, while others will hopefully be answered at the end of our current sprint (next week). The questions are mostly related to technical design decisions.
All things considered most of my concerns/questions are minor ones. I'm still happy with the way things are progressing, although it looks like we'll have to cut some features to be able to meet our release on time.".
Jesper Andersen (Scribblehead)
Concept Artist
"This week has been set in the world of SketchUp - have been trying to come up with a building design for Deadlock from which Kim can use modules for other things (this prevents the need for very specialized types) - like with the "shack" modules i needed to come up with a modular system for a "bunker'ish" structure.
The final concept idea is pretty ambitious, so i'm looking really forward to showing it off at some point (i'm not sure if the final assets will be ready for the launch of deadlock though)…
Thats pretty much it for me, not too much else is going on, weapons are still ongoing too - but i haven't had time to develop them any further yet :(
Oh oh oh, thank you for all the name suggestions, there's some great ones in there :D".
"Research time"
Anders (cptKickASS)
Lead Artist
"This week I have been assisting mister Heks with getting animation moved onto our marine pawn. I have also started prepping for shooting the weapon (visually speaking), and digging out the old gun fx from Running Man. The animation pipeline had some final work done, so that I can export separate animations for the weapons".
Jess (NecroSonic)
Level Designer
""SARA: Entry mismatch. Subject appears to be offline. No record stored this week"".
Nicolai (Reese)
CEO & Composer
"Concluding several admin tasks as well as looking into the wonderful world of basic audio coding. Next week I'll be focusing all my time working with sound design once again. Can't wait :)"
