The June edition of Game Developer Magazine features an analysis of the state-driven gameplay tool created for the development of Deus Ex 3.

Will these tools ever be released to modders? Is the article actually interesting? I don't know. The blurb:

For Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the team needed an intuitive method for designers to implement gameplay. It fell to Luis Sempé of Eidos Montreal to create the tools, and here he shares his advice for the creation of a state-driven gameplay system.
