Half Life 2 mod Hidden: Source, the ModDB Editor's Choice Multiplayer Mod of 2005, launches the feature-packed Beta 3 this Friday 28th April, 7pm GMT. The mod's innovative gameplay, praised by Computer Gaming World as "intense and paranoid fun...what F.E.A.R. should have done with multiplayer mode", has now been massively upgraded with new high tech weaponry, an original techno-orchestral soundtrack, an all new new map and lots more.
Hidden: Source pits a fast-moving and nearly invisible mutant escapee known as 'The Hidden' against the IRIS security squad, who must use teamwork to hunt him down -- or die trying. Beta 3 adds new weaponry such as the FN2000 scoped rifle, laser-tripped sonic alarms and night-vision goggles, while the Hidden has improved wall-clinging abilities and the wall-penetrating 'aura-vision'. There’s also an in-HUD radar and a new radio communications system as well as creepy taunts for the invisible Hidden to torment the IRIS with.
The Hidden is on the loose, and only the IRIS team stands between him and mindless slaughter. Grab your gear and keep your eyes open – the hunt is on!

I love this mod for bringing this type of gameplay back to life, I first enjoyed it every much with AvsP, most mods seem to just copy existing gameplay, and this one really brings back new gameplay thats what I love it for.
