Incredibly easy and boring gameplay. It's too repetetive, and half the time you play you're in the damn ventilation system.
Too much copied from the original HL story aswell. What's even worse, is that it isn't even in english.

I agree with Werve, why release in a completely different language then English? I'm sure alot of people would have played it if it werent for the Russian language, i know i would.

Why not simply learn Russian, at least some basics? I know I did.
my suggestion would to stop being a pussy, download it and go for it anyway. It's a game, not rocket science and I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out :D
I'm stuck in the lift shaft ( the one where you have to turn the power off ), & it just seem virtually impossible to jump to the ladder to the other exit. I've been trying to do this for hours. Any tips you could give me, as it's now getting to the point where I can't be bothered any more, as it seems too hard. :cry:

I love the leveldesign- a lot of parts of this game are waking up the old HL feeling!
It is possible to jump there, just get next to the wall and jump, or just noclip there... :P
You can use noclip by opening console(? button, left side of 1), then type sv_cheats 1 quick save, quick load and type noclip on console and you can hower there, after that open console again type noclip again to disable it. :)

OK, so I can understand a mild amount of frustration for the mod not being in English, but let's just think about it for a second.
If Spore came out without any English language support, would I still play it? -Yes. If there was a game which I wanted to play, I wouldn't let language get in the way of it. RPGs and script-heavy games, yeah, but it's an FPS which doesn't sound like it has a major storyline (nobody's said 'there were lines of Russian text and I couldn't understand any of it'). It's an extreme example, but my point is that you should give games a chance and then mark 'em down for lack of localization. I know if I was making a mod and I had to wait about for a Chinese translation before I could release I'd be pretty ****** off. The chances are, if the mod's played enough they'll get somebody to put together a translation pack. I checked the comments in the mod profile and someone seemed to think it was just the default Russian NPC audio script anyway, so I don't see how that makes the gameplay suffer. Maybe try replacing the sound folders with the English audio versions and see if it helps?
Just imagine how the French feel, but do they wait around for MINERVA to get translated into their language -no. They play the game for what it is mostly, and FPS where the emphasis is on movement, shooting and survival. Please somebody tell me if I'm wrong, if there's some epic storyline behind this mod release, but from what I've heard I very much doubt the lack of English language support gets that much in the way of the core playability and enjoyment. In fact, the only person who's put forward a rating on the mod so far in the comments section has given it 9/10. Interpret that as you will...
all you people complaining its in russian and you dont know what to do, USE SOME COMMON SENSE AND WORK IT OUT!! okay, theres one instance where if you dont speak russian, you dont know whats going on, BUT if youre a half life fan, you already know the lines that the speech is going down anyway. on a side rant, how often do you see people whose native tongue isnt english complaining about something being only in english? generally they accept that it was made by someone in a different country and either learn the language or dont bitch and whine about it. you do have the choice as well.
this is a good mod, much better than some of the tripe that has been released under the original half life name.. I'd even say this is better than Blue Shift. theyve captured the feel of half life quite nicely and it was a good touch having the helmeted hev guys as npcs as well =)
deserves more appreciation 8/10
