Well, everyone, it's about time for another trailer.
This time around, the focus is to give you a nice, straight-forward dose of what it's like to actually play the game, in 1024 HD glory. And so I present Gunreal Trailer 2, just to give you a hard time and make it more difficult to wait for its release.
Rather than ramble on about what Gunreal is, I'll just post some images that you can look at while the trailer is downloading...
-- This above is the an earlier screenshot (in Unreal Editor) of most of the weapons. The three words that define the philosophy behind the weapons and combat are: 1) solid, 2) powerful, 3) polished. If you get nit-picky, you could also add "utterly burly and hardcore", but just those three will do.
-- The main menu is inspired by this little-known thing called simplicity. When you click on the Multiplayer button, those top two buttons turn into "Join Game" and "Host Game". The Join Game button ends up right under your cursor, so a quick double-click is all it takes to hop into the online lobby.
The weapon shown in the center The Destroyer superweapon. $5 to anyone who can guess what it does. ...No, it doesn't have healing properties.
-- This is the HUD and Shopping Screen, which is enforced by an elaborate help-system that gives you instant tool-tips, detailed descriptions, and a dedicated help-button in the upper-left. Given enough time, even my mom could figure it out.
-- The Combat Glove is an all-purpose melee weapon and team-play enhancer, capable of being loaded with several different types of ammo. These 3d Studio Max renders show it loaded with a grenade (left) and a teleportation pod (right), which is used in team-games only. Other flavors include translocator, face-remover, land-mine deployer, and peanut butter.
-- The Heavy Rocket launcher is designed to destroy vehicles and cause hyper-ventilation among gamers. It's big, it's bad, and it blows up crap.
-- The Plasma Gun is shown at left. On the right is the G-60 dual-SMG and Proximity Spammer. The Spammer is for nubcakes who like to irritate talented players without having to aim. It doesn't pwn, but makes for an excellent defensive weapon for team-games and cautious deathmatch-players who need to cozy up their campsite.
-- This is a screenshot from Unreal Editor showing a collection of some power-ups, particle systems, and the shopping-terminal shield.
The last thing deserving a mention here is the sound, which is the number one most important element going into the design of this game, aside from the gameplay, presentation, visuals, particle systems, and interface. And immersion.
The trailers don't capture the audio in its full fidelity (you can blame Sound Blaster for that), but this in-game audio demo should give you an idea of the actual sound of combat. Kudos if you have Creative's CMSS3D II, but unnecessary.

All I can say is that I'm eagerly anticipating Gunreal's release!
