Our plan has always been to mix up the look of the levels by having different "zones", including an earth-like habitable zone, a firey planet zone, and ice zone, and more. To that end our designer branched away from earth-like and has prototyped up a really nice looking backlit level with a massive sun. Check it out!Check it out in survival mode:

Sorry about the quality on this one. It had to be reduced to fit on imgur. You can see the higher res gfycat here.
We have one more that was simply too big for imgur. A nice slow-mo gfycat.
What do you think of the new level design?
So cool! The sense of scale, especially with the huge sun in the background makes for an epic feel. It also looks like there are some really tight controls when jumping from planet to planet. Can't wait to do it myself :D
Thanks! If you're on Windows, give the demo a shot and let us know how it goes. If you're on Mac we do have an unofficial untested build if you're interested...
I am indeed on a macbook. Running the latest version of mavericks, and I'd totally love to try your game out if you've got a build for mac
Okay, try this out:

It's not tested but it might work for you! If you don't have a controller we'll be doing a build with keyboard and mouse support in the near future.
Fortunately I have a dualshock 3 controller so I hooked it up and gave things a shot. The default bindings works moderately well except for any weapons. I was able to dodge my way to around wave 5 until I was overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Great game, though, I definitely had fun and I'm sure it would be even more fun with multiplayer.
Thanks for letting me play! If you work out a controller setting for dualshock 3 that includes weapons, lemme know :)
