Yep you heard right, the moddatabase forum is getting there pretty much on time. Hopefully by tommorow there will be an early version to browse and post on...
In the mean time however, I need suggestions on all the forum topics that you reckon should exist, because I am just dead out of ideas.
Of course there will be the staple ones such as, Games Discussion, Mod Discussion, Random Discussion, but this is modDB where anything goes and the community is listened to, so if you want to have a say in the forums, just post a comment and it shall be taken into account!

Than as a person or group asks for another game thread than we set it up!
That would require a LOAD of forums for 34 games ...
We are discussing in IRC at the moment what we can do :)
I just came up with this idea of hainga Drop Down menu in the game/mods forum where you can pick what game the topic is about, be it HL, or UT or whatever and then it might put a little logo or a Abbreviation of the game next to the thread title. That way people can see that "Oh, these people are talking about a HL mod" and not "Ok heres a thread where they talking about a mod, what game is it for"

At this stage the forum will be just one biiig blob, like standard forums - so that i can get it done quick. However fortunatly i coded it so that the forum could be split up into a game-by-game basis, hence hopefully in a few weeks what each of you lads suggested would indeed become a reality

have you got a 120 second or 60 second "post limit" to stop automated spamming bots ? :P
is that with the forums you mean to stop the spam?
spam filter and bad word filter... i agree that we should keep most swearing in, as thats where moderators come in :) but i mean some words should be censored... i wont say them here, but yeah :o
the commenting system already has most of those checks in place and the forum will to...
oh and i just thought of a few more categories.. mods are all about development, and creation
so their will be stuff like

- Programming / Coding (which could deal with actual mod coding, website development (welp, the backend anyways) and also external coding such as bots, patches etc... but NOT hacks.. of course ;)
- Multimedia - could deal with all audio, and video where appropriate.. as i know how many people have asked me "how do you make a video in HL"
- Mapping (duh)
- Artwork (not sig testing)
i guess we'd need a "testing" forum or soemthing that is unmoderated, where we can move poo-like threads to :)
I think the SP mods and MP mods should just be one mods category.
AND TIME SPAM BOT THINGS ARE BAD! If any do like 10-20 seconds.

Think that would be good for now. help wanted is useless, that features built in, and and breaking up the games into seperate forums would split your audience into so many pieces, the forums wouldnt get used because its to spread out. better to start small and expand upon, than to expand and not grow. confucious say. *me kicks confucious*
Complaints is good but maybe a Feedback forum would be better so we can get praise too :)

Yeah you kinda need like all the obvious ones like Models,Skins,Coding,HTMl,moddb discussion and compliannts. As long as its well maintained and moderated it should be fun :D :D also dont use these smilises im not so keen on them :) :D
