Hello all,
So this is our first dev post for the new CKII: Wizarding World and we have much to share.
So some of you may of heard me discussing a few of the changes coming to WW and how many of the old features are being reworked, this includes; events, gfx, histories, cultures etc... even some base mod mechanics. We plan on making the mod a much smoother, more enjoyable experience. Not that anyone ever complained it wasn't fun... We're just planning on adding more of that good stuff for you all!
Merlin's beard! That's right we're dropping the BBC Merlin section of the mod to give Harry Potter our full attention. It was nice having that extra content, but it pulled focus away from our actual goal and created an abundance of extra work. Not to say there won't be a few Easter eggs here and there, but the base content will be removed. Now we've discussed what we're losing, lets talk about what we're adding. Yep... Bloodlines! Thanks to some of CK2's recent updates we can now have character bloodlines... Gryff! Slyth! Huff! Rave!
Have your dynasty join one of these prestigious bloodlines... but why just one!? Now these aren't all the bloodlines that we'll be including, but lets keep some mystery for the time being. We'll let you guess what other bloodlines will be added! :D
Someone say artifacts? Sure did. All those amazing items in Harry Potter will be seen in-game, this also includes all wand and broom traits being transferred into artifacts! Plus books... so many books!
This week we've been working on redesigning the wizard culture, families and the WW education system. Below you'll see some changes we've been making to the wizard look... we've spent a fair bit of time at the barbers!
I've personally spent countless hours creating 100+ CoA's for the new update. Now all families will be adorned with a suitable family crest which reflects the history of said family.
Lets talk about wizard education. Before the conclave dlc, education was primarily based on your guardians teachings, but now we are able to choose our education paths. With this in mind we are adapting the mods education system to work with conclave, allowing you to direct your offspring's education even more than before. You'll now be able to choose 'magic focus' from the focus window.
