The beta release went very well. Still there is a lot to do.

  • The beta release went very well, Ultra 64 went up to place 17 of the TopMods on release day, there where over 2500 views since then and many followers joined us - hello folks and thanks for joining the journey :)
Also the german websites Quakehaus and PC Games Hardware did report about the mod, many thanks to both!

I am already working on more textures for the next release Beta 2, which is planned for the 4th of June,
i hope to have the levels 1-4 completely retextured until then, so i can concentrate on 5 & 6 afterwards.

Then there are also lots of enemy-, weapon- and animated particle-textures still to do.

On the engine side Kaiser and Edward (the main developers of the Nightdive remaster) are currently working on a new DirectX 11 renderer.
My hope is that they will implement mipmapping, a texturefiltering method which removes the flickering and aliasing of high resolution textures.

And last but not least i have a request to all interested players: i can always use public-domain source photos for the creation of new textures.
So if you enjoy photographing and want to help, you can do me a favor and get some of those.
    Currently needed are:
  • Wooden and metal grates/boxes
  • Metal plates / metal and industrial textures in general
  • Reptile skins and spider closeups
  • Weapons and guns

For optimal usage be sure too avoid strong highlights and too high iso's (because of noise).

As always, have a pleasant day ;-)
Until next time!
