Not exactly LMS related news, but Nicemice, a friend of LMS, has released Beta1 of his Coop Mod for the single player levels named Opencoop. The file can be downloaded here:

You can run the mod by using the binaries located in the /opencoop/coop directory. Here are some words by Nicemice about his release, also located in the doom3world.org forums at:
Doom3world.org

"Since it will be an opensource mod its main target is to get the network stuff working. I think I got most of it done, which makes this release a very stable one.

Since I can't test all of the levels alone, I need your help. Test your favorite level and try to find out which parts differ from singleplayer.
Comments are welcome: Put it up here or email me at nicemice AT creativelevels DOT de

To get this thing started:
* Extract the .zip in our Doom3 directory.
* To fire up a dedicated server (dedicated.bat)
* use the (client.bat) to join it, if the dedicated server is on our localhost
* a listen server should work as well

*to play it, join the red team (marine player)
*to test it (monsters won't attack your, but sentries will Smile), join the blue team

*a map which I currently recommend for testing:
Doom3maps.org"

Guys give his mod a shot! I know from what I've already seen of this mod that it is well coded, and definitely worth a try, especially for Coop fans. Enjoy :)
