Hi,
I have been refining the animation effects for Phoenix USC as seen in these images. I have also been updating the map editor and adding in options for map parts with animation effects to make it is easy to add animation effects like this wormhole effect. The editor allows you to use sprite sheets or strips of animation and use those in game. Coupled with blending and transparency effects the result is pretty cool.
I will upload a small video of the new effect soon.
