Today we want to introduce you to our first custom gametype in Tactical Assault. There have been many rumors and ideas going around in the forums about a "Banana Mutator". So we got Proto to build up a quick gametype in code and we have had our artists working on some placeholder assets for the game mode.
This new gametype will be called "Banana Run". The Merchants team are after the banana and the Grocers team have to try and protect him from getting killed. Afterall... there is nothing worse than a bruised banana.
The Banana person is picked randomly from the Grocers team at the start of the round and has a total of 300hp. The Merchants have to go after the banana and try to kill it while the Grocers have to keep him alive. The round ends when the banana is killed or when all of the Merchants team are eliminated. The Banana player cant use normal weapons but he does have a stock of bananas which he can throw. Everytime someone runs over a bananapeel they will fall and take 30 damage.
This beautiful banana was modeled and textured by igi. These are the ones that the banana player will throw. Pay attention, if you run over them you will fall and hurt yourself. There is no excuse for not seeing them, they are bright yellow afterall!
This might just look like our standard mercenary character but with his subtly different uniform he becomes the Banana man. This is the one that all the Merchants will be after. It's still work in progress, expect some better pics real soon.
