Last week was a hectic one for us here at cybernetic Walrus. With the changes Valve announced to Steam Greenlight and them talking about charging up to 5000$ to get new games on Steam, we thought it might be better to push for Greenlight right away. Since you don't have to release the game when you are Greenlit and with valve confirming that games that went thru Greenlight before the changes will not have to go thru the new system, it seemed even more obvious to do it now. This resulted in the creation of some new screenshots we already posted this weekend, but also in a new trailer we just finished and want to present to you guys:
There is also a lesson learned. After 2 days on Greenlight and this might be something some of you developers already know, you need to get people onto your Greenlight page. We assumed more people would see the game thru Steam itself, we actually thought there were people going thru Greenlight lists everyday like maniacs. This is clearly not the case. People have to come from other external sources and since we only really started sharing content two weeks ago we don't really have the community yet to keep a steady pace.
The campaign itself is going good in our opinion! Of the people that voted (586 in total) 62% voted yes, they would buy the game! And according to steam that puts us at 22% of the top 100 games. I guess in 2 days that is not bad. However new visitors are coming in very slowly now.
So hopefully posting this here will get some of you people to vote for us! You can do so by clicking the image above or by clicking here.
Thanks a lot for the support!
