On Shutdown2, the engineer's sentry gun seems to protect the ramp fairly well... and who knows if the sneaky spy will trigger the switch? Watch as the mystery unfolds!
The blue team's flagroom on Monkey is also shaping up nicely, if I don't say so myself.
dr_nick's creative efforts have been the inspiration behind the bulk of the Fortress Forever class models' appearances. He's been kind enough to upload many more of his concept sketches, and here are some examples:
More new media (WIP models, sketches, screenshots, etc.) can be found on our media page. Be sure to give it a look!
Since the last update, we've added some new folks to the FF dev team. Olah and voogru have so far proven to be great additions to the FF coder group. 2d-chris has joined the mapping squad and is pushing full steam ahead. geekfeststarter and GoaT_RopeR have started helping Dr. Evil with bot scripting.
Lastly, today we finished our third coordinated playtest in three weeks. What does this all mean, you might ask? It means we're on track to have a working Fortress Forever beta version ready during the first week of August (yes, August 2006). From that point on, all FF changes will be tweaks based on playtesting, bug fixes, minor model-related updates, additional maps, etc. More news to come on that later!
oh terrible rofl106, i think FF models look terrible, well because they do... TFC is not a realistic game, i mean a perfect example is that soldier looking all weird in the air because its trying to be too realistic for TFC. Do you honestly think that this decision and design for TF2 was rushed by VALVe? As said by VALVe it will be the most technologically advanced source game to date.
i hope your right =P
I think they will both be great in their own respects but we'll have to wait until we can play them (both) before you can make any comments like that. It's great that FF is still there though, in spite of this "competition" from Valve. I applaud you. :)
Great screens too.
sexyyyyyy
alot better then TF2 thats for sure... =D
Good comment, conidering you hven't played TF2. Looking good though.
methula they did show tf2 screenies on a steam update, and the models look like they came from a cartoon... so these definetly look like they took more time and effort too make..
Is that guy doing a wall jump or something? Sweet map updates, btw. :3
But, it's not the least important either. Regardless, the stylisic look of Team Fortress 2 doesn't mean it has worse graphics, and realism shouldn't be compared to style.
Well I was making a counter point to his statements while addressing your sarcastic remark :P
-FF is like TFC:Source, its the old thing on the source engine with better graphics(doesnt mean its bad ).
-TF2 is a new game with new graphics, new style and probably new gameplay features.
You cant compaire them, those are 2 different games!
Glad this is still going, TF2 is a shame to its name.
How so? Its Team Fortress 2 so we presume it is going to be diferent. Its not TFC2.
Great work!
I don't think we should let TF2 take away from what the FF team are doing here especially since we know so little about it. There's the thread to talk about TF2, lets keep our minds on the modding work done by Fortress Forever and talk about what has been shown.
like everyone else (other then beta testers and devs) I haven't played neither this or TF2 . So I'll say this, looking great so far.
Its actually a good thing that valve decided to go with that different look.
Anyone who cant stand the more cartoony models from TF2 will find home at FF and save a few bucks, and anyone who would rather have that more cartoony look can buy tf2
if anything it just filters out the two player bases for the people who would rather be there. Everyone wins
I love the Cartoon style of TF2, but valve should have known that by and large their audience was not looking for that.
I agree with you entirely, but maybe VALVe did know that, and didn't care.:D
