It's been quite some time now that I haven't posted anything but I have been very busy with life and university mostly. I started my internship, doing my thesis plus I just finished the exams so this period was a bit full and didn't have much time to work on the game.
Anyway, these past few days I was thinking about the game and I am thinking more and more about switching engine and going to Unreal Engine 4. The main reason for this is that Unreal Engine 4(UE4) has much much better graphics and shaders and honestly that would greatly help in creating a proper immersive horror atmosphere for the game. Unity on the other hand doesn't have these graphic quality, at least not without creating your own custom shaders. While Unity has some better aspects than UE4, I do believe that UE4 will be a better choice so that I can create more realistic looking environments!
Also I have been working with UE4 for some time now, so I do have some experience and it won't be hard for me to "transfer" all that I have done so far in Unity.
So, yesterday I had some free time and I decided to do a quick test with UE4 so you can see the graphical difference. Keep in mind that for my quick test used a model I found from Resident Evil the very known Raccoon Police Department which brings me many memories back! So this quick test isn't meant to be in game or something, I just done it so you can see how better it looks. Keep in mind also that the 3D model is quite low poly and also that I haven't changed the material settings(apart from the floor) and also the textures don't include normal maps.
Lastly, I am planning to make a website for the game and I am hopping to have it ready by the summer hopefully along with another early version of the game :D
As always feel free to post your opinions or questions and let me know what do you think about changing engine. ;)
